I feel that I am one of the people the op has high-lighted as posting in the wrong place. If so then I apologise, because actually doing the post is very different from reading through them for the information you seek isn't it.
I personally feel that vet surgeries are busy places full of really sick animals, & I don't want to be forever clogging up the phone line & a nurse with my hypochondria when both could be better employed doing something a damned sight more important.
Yes-we are new to furry four-legged kin. Yes-we ask stupid questions. But we trust that the people who contribute to this forum are genuine pet lovers themselves, or why would they be reading it?
Please don't be angry with us newbies-we all want what is best for our pets, families, money-& that's why we come to these forums.Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

Ok final post on the subject...i'm not having a go at anyone, but i was just saying that I agree with the board rules that this should be for the likes of finding products for their pet rather than diagnosing your pet, I just think there's a real danger someone could just trust what they read on the 'net rather than seek a qualified medicial opinion.

I have to say I'm astounded by this board and the number of people asking for medical advice for their pets rather than taking to the vets for expert treatment.
I quote from the sticky at the top of the page
"this is a board dedicated to pets moneysaving,
the place to discuss the best value pet insurance, any good offers on pet food you spot, where to buy flea treatment and worming tablets, where the best kennels are etc etc
please be aware that asking for or posting specific vet/medical/treatment advice will be against the rules and therefore removed "
Hopefully the moderators will pick this up and start deleting the offending threads as personally I don't think this board is an appropriate way in which to discuss problems and find solutions for their pets!
You are quite right to say how inappropriate it is for pet health advice to be discussed on this forum
it is against the site rules
such threads will be deleted if and when we see them
