As above.

With previous Canon a couple of years back, I'm sure I had the same? and remedy was the san-disk micromate adaptor, which I've just now used, to nil effect.

Nor does slotting mem.card in direct to hard drive work.

Help please? Need these pics to attach to urgent email.

Thankyou in advance.

Can you not connect the camera directly to your PC via USB?

What type of memory card is in the camera?

What make and model PC do you have?

    Oh, good morning bod,
I feel some embarrassment at finding a reply from you....again,..to my un-techieness.

    1. Don't know. have never done so for any camera. Have always put mc into slot on hard drive. Just looked at camera. Can't see any places for anything to be plugged anywhere.

    2. TDK 4GB

    3. Don't really know. Is windows xp the right answer? No, I think that's the operating system, but I didn't buy it or set it up. My only contribution was presence in PC world Boxing Day madness and money, years ago.

It's the fact that the micromate San-Disk [SDDR113, with another no. AA0709XXC]worked for previous Canon as some sort of adaptor. Thought it would again.

    Hold on, found this:
    Packard Bell
    Packard Bell Computer
    AMD Athlon[ml] 64 processor
    3400+
    2.19GHz
    960MB of RAM
    PHYSICAL ADDRESS EXTENSION

When I insert the mc into an hd slot, not using adaptor, a red light comes on in that section of various slot sizes.
When I slot the adaptor in, and then the mc into that, I have a little 'dinky-dink' sound and green light for both actions.

    Oh, hold on, words
    A/V OUT
    DIGITAL
impressed perp. above little string wrist loop thing. Is that anything?

Just to add I spent ages on Canon site last night, submitting every form of suitable ? I could think of and got nowhere.

This web page tells us that your camera has a Mini-B USB port on it.

The user manual (PDF) for your camera suggests that it is item 2 on page 4 (right hand side). Connect the relevant lead from that port to the USB port on your computer; the computer should hopefully recognise a mass storage device, install the relevant drivers and then let you access the camera via Windows Explorer. :)

If you need to install the camera software then it is item 4 on this page.

    Yes, did hit both:
    Support & Download
    Brochure
    - as they appeared and seemed obvious info target. But nothing happens when I do so.
Can't do anything till Fri now. Will try and find tiny bit to fit in that end notch: it's barely discernible. Sent Museum em sans pics. Appt should follow and make need redundant.

    Thankyou bod - again:-)

The links in my previous post are all working fine for me. (The PDF might take a little longer to load, depending on your connection speed).

Well bod - or whoever is kind enough to respond to this - it's been a few days since i tried without success to follow your instructions, because I had more putah ills yesterday, confirmed by Primus[now called Fuel broadband for some unfathomable reason].

I called at PCWorld en rte back ce soir, wondering if I needed some other sort of adaptor. Lo and behold, my pics show up at once in any of their hard drives.

I've had extremely poor experiences of PC World, if some time ago, so have no intention of doing what girl told, unless you say it's right:
    restore everything to factory settings.

'What will that do?' I asked ' Will I lose anything?'
'Yes, you lose everything - it wipes your computer clean. Then you can start again. Then your computer will find your new camera.'

I am disinclined to follow this 'expert advice' unless anyone else convinces me....)))

From what you wrote above, I downloaded that thing headed:dcsw-3-0-0-2r2-91(1).zip -WinRAR(evaluation copy]

What do I do with it? I still don't get my pics at all.

My suggestion to you would be to follow the instructions that Bod gave.

    Specifically:

Find the lead that came with the camera with a 'normal' USB plug on one end and a somewhat smaller connector on the other end.
This is the cable shown as Interface Cable IFC-400PCU on page 82 of your camera user guide. It is also shown in the picture on page 81 of that guide, described as 'USB Cable (camera end: Mini-B)'.

Connect your computer and camera together as described under the heading Saving Images to a Computer on page 87.

You should be able to follow those instructions right through the section headed Save the images to the computer on page 88.

Report back if you have any problems with that.

Thankyou wealdrom - I don't have such a thing as that lead.

Yet again yesterday, even before going out, I reconciled package contents [see directly below first sepia banner]. 6 objects: all present.

Went through this again at pcworld too - IF anything else is required, why isn't it in the box? Not best pleased last time at having to buy another thing to effect pic upload, I was nonetheless prepared to do so again now. But they say 'not needed'.

Note also on that System Map, p81[as per your ref.] mem.card>card reader>'putah DOES show as one of the 2 pathways for pic. upload. WHY DOESN'T THIS WORK? Surely this is retrograde, rather than an advance?

Anyway, I've rummaged in my bag of wirey bits and found nothing to fit. Thought I had, but it's a Blackberry-size little end which is slightly too fat.
