  • I wonder if Herbalife and other companies of similar ilk have bots running to notify them of adverse comment. Might just be 'distributors' of course, egging on their own product.
  • oopadaisy if you type in herbalife success you get just as many stories. you missed the point anyway. In my reply I clearly say it's not a magic wand I also say it's helped 100's of my clients. Most of which now no longer use the herbalife products as I phase the products out over time and phase in well balanced nutritional food plans. Herbalife are constantly trying to get me to follow their own marketing plan but I have not done so. The products do work if used correctly by a professional not some "NEWBIE" who lost a bit of weight with the products then goes around calling themselves a wellness coach and preaching they supply the holy grail to weight loss. I even had one guy try to convince me that the products would cure my farther in-laws mental illness. All things considered the plan is simple and can work to kick start weight loss.

Yeah, but it's been proven that for many MLM 'opportunities' the success stories are actually false and have been posted by the originators of the product.

Oh don't get me wrong, some people do make money....but about 98.5% lose money.

IIRC in the US MLM firms like Amway/IBS [not sure about Herbalife] now have to disclose how much the average 'distributor' makes...and it's usually $5 a year or a loss.

  • Hi I sell Herbalife mainly to my football team but I also sell it to people trying to loose weight. I don't know how people can call it a scam.
The way it works is you buy a pack for about £90(contaning some herbalife products for you to try or sell) then you can then order more products (at a reduced rate depending on how many items you order).
So just like any shops i have worked in. True?

It's up to you to sell the products then and I think this is where most people fall down and call it a scam. A few friends have tried Herbalife before I joined and they all called it a scam but they would never advertise or do any work except sit on facebook and try and sell it through groups.
You have to remember it's not a get rich quick scheme but because of the ensentive to recruit people ( you recieve and % from there sales) some/a lot? of people advertise that you can work from home and make £££ (to my knowlege herbalife don't say this) but in reality it's all about 1 to 1 contact with your customers knowing your product and putting some time in.

As for the products they do work if you use them properly (thats where the one to one contact comes in and good product knowlege) if you have a good distributer they will talk you through and support you through your weightloss programme but if they are just in it for the money then chances are it won't work. I've had a friends mum say to me that it doesn't work and she tried it before after a few questions i found out she was not doing it properly thats why she was not loosing weight and her previous distributer was giving her wrong advice.

My opinion as with most things are get a personal referral (from someone that you trust and is not an idiot) for anything that requires you to put your hand in your pocket.
99.9% of people will not make £500-£1500 by doing nothing you always have to work for your money. Most people that write it's a scam (in my opinion) have lost money or not made the stated money due to not putting in the effort and just looking for a quick £.

I agree a lot of companys do this and thats pretty much what most adverts are for any product/company (although a bit more watered down or a bit smater)
People need to remember if you are going to invest time and money don't go by opinions from a faceless source (negative or posative) you should always do your own research and ask loads of questions. I even asked to see my sponsors bank statements to prove the money she was making.

    Thanks in advance

I love your belief in your product and the sales tactics despite all the evidence pointing to the opposite [it's one of the signs of a true convert].

Amazing how IYO all the people who have been hoodwinked are not victims, but just lazy, useless, uncommitted and not willing to put in the effort [gee, it's almost like the Amway food chain, blame failure on the victims not the business model].

You really are a magnificent example of the MLM Scamway brigade, and I urge everyone to learn from your posts.

Wrt the stats.....have you asked Herbalife what % of victims, sorry distributors, are still with them after 12 months - that would be a pretty good measure fo 'failure rate'.

Wrt income levels...do you really believe the American version of the OFT/TS would go to the trouble of forcing the MLM firms to disclose the data I mention UNLESS they knew that it was a significant issue??? Gov depts only invest time and money in court where there's a public interest being served.

Google Herbalife and scam, or any MLM name and scam....enjoy the reading. {but of course you already know all this bad press is just from a handful of lazy disgruntled ex-distributors who didn't want to put in the effort, don't you??

It's in my opinion because i don't know the facts. I can only comment on my friends that have tried it before me. I am not a convert or anything like that but I guess there is not point saying my opinion because i get the impression that yours is always right.
I have in no way been biased towards herbalife I have just said my experiance and agreed with a lot of yours.
It works for me and I work pretty well I have not seen anyone come on here and say I have tried this and it was a scam all I have seen is quotes from other sites that can also be made up.

I was genuinly (spelling) interested in the stats you were providing and was trying to find out if they were facts or just made up so I could make MY OPINION not just jump on a band wagon.

your just as bad as the people that say you can make millions you have not said were your sources are just got defensive.
I genuinly want to hear first hand information on the company I work for.

On a point for the drop out you should research your market before going in to any buisness and I have done this thats why I make money but a lot of people just see the £££ I have turned down people that want me to refer them because they have no idea what they are doing.

My opinion I was trying to get accross was that the company is not a scam but a lot of people operating within the company may scam people into thinking they will make ££££.

    Talk about tautology!!!!!!

If 'a lot' of the people working for a company are scammers, then I fail to see how anyone could fail to describe the company as anything other than a scam.
