Unfortunately my T Express had no Carling cider, but did get free soooop!
...and the Co-op, after some discussion, took my £1.50 vouchers off their £1.59 Dr O pizzas!“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it.” ~ Ferris Bueller0 -

I saw this Groupon and was v tempted. Wishing I had got it now as it was very festive! Sil has taken Mil for a few Birthday afternoon teas there and has been very pleased. (Lovely on the inside. Better than looking at the outside of the building! Not keen on this or the new library I'm afraid!).
As an extra special treat you could go up to the top floor to Marco Pierre Whites restaurant for a drink, or to 'look at the menu' and a 'look around before booking a celebration'. The terrace has amazing views over Birmingham if it's a clear day.
Taking my students to the German market on 19th Nov. We booked early enough to get free hot chocolate and a ride on the carousel. Very MSE!
Have fun! HE x
Yes it does look nice - I got this deal on the 20% off weekend so even betterI booked for November as everything gets so busy in the last few weeks before Christmas
I think the cube has come up a few times for various offers and the Marco Pierre Whites restaurant but a bit pricey.
but we will go to the top for a look see
we are going to miss you sadly by a day, otherwise we would have been your honoury students for the day enjoying the hot chocolate
Just had a look on Groupon now and they have a champagne one on the 25th floor for £35 - OMG -“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. best thing is to just buy it, check your receipt and if no points then go to CS to complain or get a refund“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. It felt like it :eek: :rotfl::rotfl:
I found it strange when we moved from the northeast into East anglia, asking the greengrocer (remember them?) for a turnip :eek: shock horror at what he gave me :eek: quite a conversation was held for him to explain to me that I had got muddled up. "no" says I. "I used to make lanterns out of turnips at Halloween"
Yes:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

In these parts, swede is yellow and tastes delicious when mashed, particularly in "mixed mash" along with potatoes, carrots and plenty of black pepper. Turnip is a small, tasteless white thing. I remember carving these for Halloween when I was in the brownies (like FC, I am old enough to have been around before pumpkins were invented). The smell was rank when you put a lit candle in them (obviously tealights hadn't yet been invented either lol).
No carvings here, we're not artistic enough. In 2008 we were staying with my friend in Denver around Halloween. It was also the time of the US presidential election and her son came up with this rather splendid Sarah Palin pumpkin!0
