    I think I can still count on one hand (but only just!) the number of times Mum has been so bad in hospital over the last 3 years that I have really thought she wouldn't be coming home. Anyway, this summer she bounced back yet again, but I really don't know how. She gets frustrated, especially about walking, but must be so strong for a very small lady. I do hope I have just a few of her genes to keep me going. :A

    You mum sounds a lot like mine elsie. For a little lady full of bouncing beans I mean genes. ;)

    Like you I hope I have inherited my mum's strength. :A

    Oh Mildred :o :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Have you maybe got a vessel that you can put some edible vegetation in to keep sluggy occupied with a lid you could poke some holes in? They'll eat lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, sprouts.....etc.

    I do hope slugs are not the new hoovers :eek: :rotfl:

    It is currently in temporary accommodation (a large plastic container which does not have a lid) with a couple of leaves. It has so far turned its nose up at apple, so I have now put some broccoli in :)

    I don't think anything will replace the hoover obsession...we went shopping today and on the way back walked past an electrical outlet. DCousin was amazed to see him run across to the window looking intently and wistfully at the hoover in the window :rotfl:

    People actually keep these as pets :eek::rotfl:

    I have just had the lecture of my life :eek: about cupcakes of all things. I buy DS2 2 chocolate cupcakes every time I go to Ts at a cost of £1.50 for 2 . Today I saw a pack of 4 chocolate cupcakes for £1 so of course I bought them :D he's just ordered me into the kitchen :o:o to tell me......

    'I think you have been duped with these cupcakes. They look like chocolate cupcakes, the packet says they are chocolate cupcakes but look.....when you peel the paper back they are just cake. No chocolate in the cake part, just cake (his face was getting very red by this point) so they're not chocolate cupcakes, are they? Then he said......' I bet they were cheap, weren't they?' :o:o:o

    I tried to claw some sense of me being the parent by asking him why he was peeling back cupcake papers at this time of night :rotfl::rotfl: and his reply was 'what age am I?' '13' I said. He said 'Exactly, old enough to know a suspicious cupcake when I see one' :eek: :rotfl::rotfl:

    I guess 2 cupcakes are worth £1.50 after all. I feel like a naughty child

    My DS (also 13) just licks the icing off of the 2 pack ones and feeds the cupcake to his dog. Very expensive icing ...
