    MPs haven't received an 11% pay rise!

I also believe that MP's aren't paid enough...which is why we get so much dross and not enough quality £66,000, aint really a lot of money...some of my mates earn more than that and are not even high flyers, I earn well over half that for a lot less hassle...I wouldn't want their job!;)

Scarily… I agree with you on the MP's salary not being adequate.

Yes that's quite right. They settled on 9% in the end? 11% was proposed. So a paltry £74,000 now rather than £67,000 :rotfl:

  • HD from this evening, thanks to Savvy Sal I believe for the beans :) They are dh favourite and I was down to 1 tin!

Also, found a teeny, and probably not useful glitch. (My first so please be kind)
On the bakery 2.50 for 3 items, the mini croissants and boston cream doughnuts don'T appear. I think the only good comp is glazed doughnuts v T. I bought mini croissants, 2 X doughnuts. Paid 2.50, doughnuts comped at 2 v 1.50 (as they are 1 each in A and 2 for 1.50 in T) so that's 1.85 cost for croissants and doughnuts. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
Not hugely helpful but may be good filler?
    Hth.

I found out last week DD2 may be back home after 4th year while she takes time out to do a MA.

Secretly hoping she does live at home as she only came home for a month this summer. :(

I didn't realise that she won't get student finance if her intercalating degree is a Masters, so Bank of Stubby will be raided. :o Less so if she lives at home for the year. ;)

It is hard, DS1 has started a MBA this year, which I am paying for, but thank god he has a good job and is paying all of his own expenses.

DS2 is considering doing a MA next year, which I will be paying for, sadly he cannot live at home and do a MA in pure maths.. so living expenses as well.

But it is lovely they want to study and progress.

I will never get to retire!

They get other benefits though don't they? Like expenses etc so in actual terms they are better paid than that.

I don't necessarily think they shouldn't get paid that salary but people like doctors, nurses etc are in the business of directly saving lives etc so shouldn't they be valued too?

Evenin' all. My t'pence. Back off to lurk... :D
and thanks is Mia, so not being rude, honest. :D
