MY OH has been in a fowl mood all day
.
He had a lie in this morning and then when he did get up it was obvious he wanted a lazy Saturday going no where.
so when I cottoned onto this I just got on with catching up - 2 loads of washing, one more to do, vacuum right through, general tidy up, tidy the porch, start my weekend packing, feed cats, sort through newspaper pile, 40 pansies planted in the garden plus zillions of bulbs, cut the lawn, weed, sort the compost bins out, cut some sweet peas, plant up some fruit bushes ... etc usual stuff
OH says work is very busy and I have run him ragged this week - OK we did go to Morrisons when he came home early yesterday and we also took Treacle for his jabs on Wednesday.
But on the plus side he did wait in the car when I did a big Tesco shop on Thursday, no movement required and I did take him to John Lewis for coffee and cake on Monday and for a meal out on Tuesday - not sure if that constitutes being over-demanding.
He has managed to do some manly jobs today - cut the paddock, clean the fire out and sort his clean socks out, other than that he has just moped about the house and garden - in the meantime I can tell he is bored ridged - well he did want a lazy Saturday so he got what he wanted.
But at least it means that if we have done what he wanted to do today - nothing - then he cant object when I want to do something for the next 2 days“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Could have been for a party, or lots of other reasons as Mildred suggested. Might not have even been their vouchers, they might have been picking bits up for someone else.
I work 30 hours a week, get paid a decent wage as a police officer, yet as a single mother on the wage i'm on with 2 kids, I'm entitled to child tax credits. As my son gets PIP these are at an enhanced rate, so I actually get quite a lot. Whilst I have never spent £179 on a shop that I can think of, I can imagine doing so for a special occassion like a family party or something.
As others have said, its not just unemployed people who get benefits, all kinds of people do, including a lot of people who are in work. Just because you don't want to buy smelly laundry balls (and neither do I!!), I'm sure others would look at stuff I buy and wonder why, or think to themselves they would never buy that.0 -
Just seen this on another forum I go on, and it is definitely compulsive viewing!

I feel really sorry for the drivers, never knowing whether someone is actually going to cross, or just lurking to wait for no traffic so they can get a picture. Would hate to live round there!0 -
Perhaps someone sold their vouchers so they could buy some smack“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Dont know anything about gardening or posts as such but dh is a fencer I have watched him putting up fences and he just digs a smallish hole for the post to sit into and then files it with quick set concrete May save you a bit of effort or may be rubbish info I dont know.
I couldn't use concrete as the posts are in the middle of fruit beds. We banged them down nearly 2ft in so they won't be going anywhere
We've got some big stakes for trees to go in too and they'll be going in the same way. It's hard work but is actually quite funI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Usborne Big Book of Christmas Decorations to Cut, Fold & Stick @ The Book People £4.00
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/usborne-big-book-christmas-decorations-cut-fold-stick-book-people-4-00-2026679
Yes the book people have a flash sale on this weekend - children's and adults so the free delivery code will come in very useful.
and 8.08% on Topcashback
I am at a total loss as to what to get my youngest son as always - he is so self reliant - so it might be a case of an assortment of bits and pieces but I thought this would be useful for his.
does anyone know of a better price?
