Hey everyone, I haven't been posting much as it's been really hard here. DH has been really down about the whole job situation and it's really frustrating me as we agreed he'd have a few weeks off and spend some time together, but he's just been moping.

We'd have been better off if he'd just gone and looked for another job straight away.

Anyway, he's going to go and register with some agencies next week so fingers crossed he can get some sort of work quickly while he decides what he wants to do next.

We had a nice Christmas, the kids are happy and we have somehow managed to celebrate without it looking like an explosion in a toy shop!

We have kept our listings going all through December where I would normally stop so have continually been selling stuff. We do have a few items not received but so far they have agreed to wait a bit longer to see if they turn up when the postal service starts again.

We had a load of listings end on Christmas Day (relists) and we have sold probably 50 lots between us :T :T There are some long standing items gone too, so that was worth it :D:D Hoping that the same will happen on New Years day!

I'm up nice and early to try and get a lot packed before the kiddies get up. Although the RM isn't open until tomorrow, I might pop to the post office later to see if I can do those that need to go tracked.

I haven't done much in the way of payments this month, pretty poor. I doubt I'll get much more done now.

I'm thinking of setting some annual targets for next month. Also got a lot else going on so I'm thinking a new diary might be in the offing. I'm hoping for a bit of time alone so I can do a budget and figure out my finances.

Little miss starts nursery next week! They got the dates wrong, so she's starting earlier than I planned, but I figure at least she will be used to it by the time I go back so it might not be so heartbreaking, and I can have a last push at the house.

For all my moans about DH, he has made a real effort clearing some stuff from the front room, and although it isn't perfect, it looks so much better and we have a lot more space.

    Hope everyone is well :)

  • For December the payments look pretty impressive to me. Here's hoping 2017 will be a good year for you and Mr jwil, not only finds a temp stand in job, but decides what he wants to do and lands that dream job.

We had a quiet Christmas day, as you would expect, but did spend Boxing Day with son and family.

Enjoy the rest of the Christmas season.

Well I've been thinking about my finances and my targets for next year. I've made myself a shiny new spreadsheet so know exactly where I am at  and so am thinking about how I am going to manage it all to get a proper reduction.

I am super excited about payday tomorrow as it will be my first proper pay in over 12 months! Despite the fact that it's going to disappear immediately with childcare :( it will still be nice to see a decent figure temporarily.

Phoned up my house insurance yesterday and got around £80 knocked off the renewal :T Which put it in line with other quotes shopping around.

Still need to do my big update so will get on with that soon x

Well it was lovely to see a nice wage this morning :T So I've made some payments and that's it for the month now I think, I'm pleased with that.

Now to sort out my targets for next year and start smashing them!

We are out today so I'm not sure an awful lot more will be done before the end of the year so I'm updating the declutter list for the year.

3652 items left the house - that is amazing. I still whinge and moan about the amount of stuff, but you can see a difference, even if the house is still crammed. It won't continue in the same vein in 2017 as I'll be back to work, but I will still continue to get as much out as I can.
