Which company would you recommend that builds sofas to last?

Parker Knoll 25 yr guarantee on frame. G Plan offer 10 yr on frame. Both offer huge selection of styles and coverings.

I would (and am planning on doing so myself but it's a trek from us) the Showhome warehouse rushden. They sell items from show homes.

  • I bought my sofa online from clever clicker. They sell some good brands for cheaper prices than what you would pay if you bought it direct. wouldn't normally buy offline as i like to see what i'm buying but they had some good reviews so I give it a go. Had my sofa for 2 years now and it's still in good condition and does the purpose of it.
Here is the link if you want it https://www.cleverclicker.co.uk/
    Hope it helps!

We have used DFS twice, as someone else said it depends how you care for them, our first sofa suffered me flopping and squishing as well as the dogs chewing when we tried leaving them out! This second set was a bargain and lovely, no problems with delivery and the guys were really helpful as we are located in an awkward place! We almost got from Argos but I wanted to sit on it first!

    Good luck!

Our last set from Furniture village was great. Really comfy, stood up well to a bit of abuse. We got rid of it after 5 years (moving house) - the leather was slightly lighter than when we bought it (probably due to zero maintenance), otherwise as good as the day it was bought.

New sofa's from Ikea. Doesn't really matter if it only lasts a couple of years at the price we paid...which is a good thing, because it isn't going to last much longer than that. Awful.

Local firm... we purchased 2x 2 seaters for £799, sold them for £420 5 years later. It was a uk manufacturer too. :)

We got a large sofabed from M&S almost 2 years ago in the after-Christmas sales. It was the cheapest sofabed they had – about £500-600 probably because it's a rather striking colour (deep cranberry red) – but it's very comfortable both to sit and sleep on.

I have to say my DFS leather sofas are into their twelfth year and although the one DH sits on is looking a bit worn the other is still in very good condition. I'd buy from them again.
