Because I want to enter surveying or Facilities management and you need to study for that. If I can have some experience in it before hand then I might not find the PG course for those so hard.
again, absolute rubbish! i worked in facilities management as a temp in holidays before i got my degree! i think you need to get some experience in the area so that you can actually decide what it's like and whether it suits you. i also know people who have been building managers following english degrees with no postgrad qualification. they started the job and worked up. if you're good, the company will train you themselves.

i wonder sometimes if you even research anything - you clearly didn't before you did a degree (anyone remember the philosophy has too many essays rant?!), or properly while you trying to do it, and now you have ideas about what you want to do without knowing what it involves.

    i despair

I do know what it involves and a Masters could be needed to do it in some cases. But at the moment I am just taking it as it comes and trying to get experience in that sector.

With a degree you have a responsibility to do your own research, reading and learning and cannot hold a lecturer responsible for their method of teaching. If it was a training course then it might be slightly different.

Sadly, the software industry loves meaningless techno jargon. Big words with very little meaning. I've worked on software systems for just under 15 years now, with all of my systems working reliably and efficienctly, but I never talk about "core architecture" or "vision documents" or "class structures".

I remember when I first encountered object orientated programming and methods and properties. It claims to be obvious, but it isn't! You can use methods to do the work of properties and vice versa. Once I got on with using it I realised that it was the same old thing just slightly changed.
