I did but I have got real and chucked them all out, as well as i'm now on supply!!!yeeee haaaaa!!!No job security, no pension, but more importantly NO !!!!!!!!LOL.:T :Tpetite_anglaise wrote: »ha ha candy girl, glad I'm not the only one then! Used to spend a fortune in Waterstones and on Amazon buying activity books, teaching advice stuff, gcse revision guides etc.
4 years later, and having the knowledge and cynicism that only experience brings, realise that a shiny £15 'expert guide' will no more motivate my 'orrible year 9 bottom set than bribery, chocolate or fancy worksheets!
Btw have you read "getting the !!!!!!s to behave" by Sue Cowley? It's great:T :T"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

It is the most realistic teaching advice book i've ever read.If only the HTs read it too, then they might cut us all a bit of slack:rolleyes:
I'm only a TA but I take groups of 'behaviourally challenged' children every day.
That book has saved my life :rotfl:Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

What dya mean.."only a TA!!!" Without the good TAs, of which i'm sure you're one, my job would be impossible:pI'm only a TA but I take groups of 'behaviourally challenged' children every day.

I second candy girl's comment - TA's I'm sure work equally as hard as we teachers and deserve lots of praise! Unfortunately in 4 years I have never met one or worked with one; my secondary school doesn't have any, we don't have the money for support, but I'm sure you're a godsend in schools who have them.
Memo to self; I do not need more shoes....::rotfl:0 -
Can I just put my 2 pence in I am NOT a teacher ( Was starting to think I'm the only one who isn't
), but sell your books on Amazon. My OH and I put 70odd books on within an hour and they stay on for 3 months and sell for a set price, very easy and items sell reallt well.
Good luck with you challenge. I have challenged myself to do a survey from the various sites I am a member to every week day of the holidays and to work out for 15 min each week day morning ( not much but who cares)

Trainee teacher here, will start 2nd year of PGCE in sept. Unfortunately because I only teach 1 day a week and do my proper job of NVQ assessing the rest of the time I don't get summer off. But it's so lovely to get to college and have a parking space and no students!!
R.e money saving, my local boots has loads of summer clearance selections I got stuff for Christmas and to use now Lynx showergel 29p!
