Had a phone call from the recruitment people about the job I really want, they want to progress the application, which is great news. I have to go for numerical and IT tests, and since their office is 5 minutes from the recruitment consultants, the recruitment guy wants to meet for a coffee to discuss my career aspirations and see what else they've got. That all feels very positive.
Expecting a phone call probably today from the job I don't want though...
Could be a bit of a dilemma.
Hope today's been OK - here's hoping for a miracle somehow along the line.PasturesNew wrote: »Woo - go me.

We have Malm here Pastures. They are really well made for the money. I think there are other NPs with them too. They're bl**dy heavy. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Just checked the kitchen - it's 15 degrees in there. Brought the thermometer through here to see what it is in here. Thermometer on my windowsill in here says 14 degrees in the living room. That one's more accurate as the kitchen one's one of those cards that tells you if it's hot, cool or too cold, so doesn't have a scale as such.
It would be worth, once you have the first set of everything sorted, looking for PROPER curtains. Secondhand. Ones that are not just lined but interlined, or even having some made up if you don't feel able to do it your self. Retaining the heat you create has the most incredible difference, like adding a layer of glazing or insulation. It does take some light , but if you put them up in October and took them down in march then you get the best of both worlds really.0 -

Bear in mind that if it's right next to the window, it is likely to be registering a slightly lower temperature than it would if in the centre of the room next to you.0 -

I did just look it up. Complete = 33Kg. The individual drawers are no weight at all, so I figure maybe 25Kg of the weight is the carcass! That's a sack of spuds.... without the ability to be able to drop it. Doesn't matter if you manhandle a sack of spuds a bit. Can't manhandle immaculate furniture.0 -

Can you get in in to ground floor some where until handy man or visitor comes? Getting thing upstairs is ok if the stairs are carpeted and you tip the object and you let your hips take the weight when you need a break. You might need to jig it up each step a bit though.0 -
Not feeling very clever this morning and it's a really humid day too, horrid hangover weather. At least it's only 26C so not too hot. I also managed to drink a litre of water before bed and another litre in the night so no dehydration. (groan).
Think I might work on 15 dishes for the new business today. Get a menu going. So far I've thought of:
- Thai chicken curry
- Boeuf Bourgignon
- Chicken Cacciatore
- Coq au vin
- Lamb tagine
- Beef daube
- Chicken arrabiata
- Lavender ratatouille
- Vegetable curry
- Aubergine stew with almonds
- Summer pasta (pasta with lemon, herb, peas, a few tomatoes and prawns or bacon)
- Ginger scallops with veg and bacon (not sure if that can be done in budget)
- Prawns in bouillabaisse sauce
- Couple of Indian curries
Thoughts?
The idea would be you can pick 10 for $90 or perhaps 5 for $50. Comes with rice, cous cous and spuds.0 -

If I had the choice of living at 14 degrees or moving in with someone to split the bills I would choose the latter even if I couldn't stand the person....I think....0 -
He probably is capable of doing it one of the Teachers is on the spectrum and he is well regarded, so that aspect shouldn't be a worry. My concern would be does he understand what will be expected and required? Hopefully he asks some good questions during his work experience and is given truthful answers so that he can make up his own mind.
James doesn't have autism, the other two do. James has a physical disability in EDS...not that he lets it hold him back.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
