Ignore my link above thats the wrong adapter! This is the adapter you would need
    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DVI-MALE-TO-HDMI-FEMALE-ADAPTER-CONNECTOR-CONVERTER-Gold-Plated-24-1-/200954891680?pt=UK_Computing_Other_Computing_Networking&hash=item2ec9d84da0

Try the digital out first. As I said earlier you may find you have this adapter in the boxes that came with the PC.

Your problem here are your cheap components.
The PSU is rated at 12 Amperes on the important +12 Volt rail. That means that you have 144 Watts to power the major hardware on your system. Let's say that the CPU will draw 60 watts under maximum load and the whole system is grabbing 80 watts. The GPU featured in post #6 may perhaps draw up to 70 watts. Overload.

    Just a hypothetical example.

The stock PSU on my inexpensive Medion is rated at 19.5 Amperes via the +12 volt rail. I would/could fit that card to my system, even though the PSU is rated at 350W in total, as my PSU can supply up to 234 volts compared to your 144 volts.

I'm no expert on these things. This is just to give you an idea.

Im going to be honest with you here Nifty.

You replieed 6 time sand didnt give much info, I hold my hands up and you correctly said that a gx card was not as good as what I had but never really gave any real imput to what was suitable for my pc in a price range I was looking at. I infact bought the above card for £44 but this was by someone else who got stright to the point and said to me that this is the card you need. Indeed it is the same one as the Argos link in put up however but I bought it cheaper.

Any time I put up a helping thread that is techie and you answer I always think of this guy.

You do not help in a few questions. I gave all info required in 3 posts you replied in 6. The person who helped me buying what I needed answered in one post.

Im not slagging you off as im sure you help people out but I find whenever you reply to those who are not computerised you start to answer like the Simpson character. Sorry if I offend you but please do not ever reply to any of my threads that are computer related as I find that you are the most unhelpful.

I can see where silky is coming from with some of nifty's short replies, but he also gave the most appropriate advice about the DVI port on the motherboard (something I missed!).

Silky said that he wanted to improve picture quality and wants HDMI output, well you basically get that with DVI. Without needing to get into the nitty gritty DVI is HDMI, the main difference is that HDMI carries audio as well (there are other differences but they wont come into purpose here).

Well you already have a separate cable for audio so thats not a problem. If you just want a cheap option to see the improvement in picture quality, simply connect the TV to the PC using DVI port. It'll be an improvement over the analogue connection and wont cost a penny.

You've already got an HDMI cable so you just need a DVI-HDMI adapter which probably came with the PC.

But if you've already got a replacement card then it doesnt really matter.

maas im glad you can see where im coming from Nifty gives short replies each time, but im not having a dig. All i wanted was advice on a new card and I got one from someone who gave me advice and assurance that this was what I was looking for in one comment. I bought this for under 45 quid. It was a simple process with the info I gave in my threads. Nifty gave me nothing, except short replies. Surely he could have given me the info i required after I gave my 3 screenshots of my internal workings of my pc, but as I say he was like the character out of the Simpsons. Im not knocking the guy as im sure he help people but when you are a computer geek its easy to belittle people asking for help. I am a professional chef and its like this for example.

Topic: 'im trying to make a white sauce how do I begin'.

my reply. 'Well you have to start with milk'

Its like trying to get blood out of a stone. when one reply could solve the whole issue.

'Well you start off by melting butter, when melted add the same quantity of plain flour.....................etc etc. Why just keep giving one sentance as you think 'Well I know what you want but will keep dangling the carrot and hope you keep asking for more, my reply ratio then goes up and makes me look supierior to others.

Im sorry and I know im going to get people who will say im ungrateful but I gave enough information.

End of topic please. im sorted now by someone who advised me with the info I gave and assured me that is what I needed.
