I do find when someone fails to address the entirely valid points made in the last post and then says 'conversation over', it's generally because they were talking rubbish all along.

Not at all - I said conversation was over because you want to be neither correct or accurate.

Your stupidity has spoilt what could have been a productive thread for the OP.

The converstaion on 4x4 vehicles is over but you haven't stopped being an ar$hole.

I will never stop being accurate - my apologies to any other folks who find accuracy boring.

It's not accuracy, it's pedantry, completely irrelevant to what the initial poster asked and designed only to show everyone that you think you know best and yet have no concept of the difference between a commonly accepted term and a technical description.

Because it's the same clique of dull, know it all pedants like Iceweasel who use this part of the forum to show everyone they know best whilst immediately throwing their toys out the pram and crying troll when someone point out they're talking garbage.

Without in any way wishing to get involved in taking sides; I think many people who aren't necessarily into cars will think an SUV can also be called a 4x4. My other half has an AWD X1 and on occasions she does call it a 4x4, although she also thinks it is the offspring from an X5 and X3 having a relationship.

But, I think the original point being made to the OP was, why look at an X3 if it is only required for shortish journeys and no mention was made of driving where the 4x4 function will help. Why go to the extra expense of 4 wheel drive when it's not needed?

In nearly 2 years and over 2000 posts I've never had to be rude to anyone in that way that before.

I've seen many threads degenerate into chaos but never been directly involved myself.

But you are quite right - of course (as you say) my question was to the OP inquiring as to if he really had a need for such a type of vehicle which, although it can't cross deserts or climb mountains, has pretty good driving characteristics for muddy lanes and twisty rural roads.

Lets forget the troll - who only joined 3 days ago - and move on.

And the only reason more than one does is because you repeatedly called me an @rsehole after being pulled up on a needlessly pedantic, smarmy, and entirely irrelevant display of being a know-it-all bore.

I don't know what me joining three days ago has to do with anything, everyone has to join sometime. Would you prefer it was just you and the same few regulars endlessly arguing over who thinks they know the highway code best?

Calling me a troll won't change the fact you're a pedantic bore who got on high horse about 4x4s despite knowing full well what the person who initially mentioned them meant.
