MSE News: Planning on getting a TSB current account? Do it now if you want to...

What will you do if they lock your account e.g. because it was accessed from a non-UK IP address and request you present yourself in Branch for an ID check?0
-
what happens if you open an account without logging into your online banking, you are then asked to create a internet id and it then successfully grants your account opening. bear in mind all details used are the same as the 1st account?
if looks like it has gone through?0 -

Now log in, using existing (old) details and hopefully new account should be there.0 -
If the above happens, and you are still able to open a second account after this TCs change, are you liable to anything other than tsb closing down one or both accounts?
I was in the process of applying for a second and got past the ticking clock, presumably where it credit checks you and then my browser crashed. Not ideal! However, not once did it say anything about me already having a sole account open...0 -
My accounts are not linked despite using all the same information and same branc sort code. I created a second online username.
I'm not bothered if the second account will succesfully work.0 -
Can the author of this news page, Helen Knapman, please confirm where she's got this info from about existing customers being able to open additional accounts until Jan 2015; as the TSB are denying it's true...
If its in their small print somewhere on the TSB website, please direct me to it so I can site it to the lady at the Morden branch!
Thanks0 -
Opened first TSB Classic Plus in May this year, planning to take advantage of a second one later. Just now successfully opened second one online. Happy to have picked up MSE Helen's news article, which prompted me to act. I suspect, unless they change rules yet again, that TSB will honour their own T&Cs and allow seconds, etc, up to 31-Jan-2015 deadline.
Banks seem to need enticements of accounts like Classic Plus in order to reel in new customers. The fact that some (relatively, a few) savvy savers take advantage (up to sum of mere £100 per year interest on £2000 max) comes with the territory.0 -
Unless something's changed I think the article is wrong?
The T&Cs say nothing about one account having to be joint at all, just that there is now a limit of two plus accounts per person, aka. you can still open two single accounts.
I opened one a few weeks ago and quite recently opened my second and it all went through fine.0 -

From the signup page a link to the current T&Cs:
"Restrictions: You can have 1 Plus account in your sole name, and another Plus account in joint names"

Information correct as at September 2014
TSB10146 (10/14a)
Google links directly to TSB10146 08/14 (August 2014) T&Cs.0 -
I can't go back to confirm (unless I fancy a 3rd account
), but I swear the August docs are the ones I got from the completion screen last night...could be mistaken though.
EDIT: Just checked my history - and you're right, I got them from Google. Probably because I was confused!0
