Well so far I have £25 saved (:o ) but I was not planning on spending more than £100 - max! In fact I was hoping to only have to pay about £80, but maybe that's not really feasible. Maybe £100 max. Does anyone think this is reasonable? Or am I too hopeful..................... ?0

If you buy a bed from Sleepmasters you can swop it after 28 days if you've not got on with it - think it costs 10% restocking fee (they then send the beds to a charity) but still a lot cheaper then a whole new bed if you hated the mattress - not sure if other companies do this ?Sealed pot challenge 822

The only memory foam toppers I have seen for that price are low quality ones, as for quality memory foam mattresses........no chance. You might find a few very low density and low quality seconds, but that's about it.0 -

It is possible to get a 100% satisfaction guarantee (without a restocking fee) from other companies.
Have you seen the price that Sleepmasters charge (very expensive)0 -

I received my new mattress bought on Ebay a few days ago. Its a 5ft kingsize 8" thick, I paid £109 plus £29 postage. I have slept on it for 2 nights and have to say its fantastic, I am delighted with it, I was a bit sceptical because of the price, but have to say I am more than satisfied.:T

We have a complete memory foam mattress now, but previously used a topper, bought from a high street outlet for about £70. Whatever anyone says, we found it brilliant, transformed the bed completely, even though it was neither old or cheap originally, the bed that is. Present mattress is also German made, bit on the firm side, but after a few days acclimatisation, very good, and no excess heat problems.
Anyone on a limited budget could do worse than a topper, but another consideration of course is that they make your bed thicker, so can be tricky with fitted sheets, etc. Our topper wasn't very thick, and we were very skeptical, but what a difference it made, and it's because of that we have gone the whole hog. We wanted a new bed anyway, re-modelling the bedroom etc., but we're very happy. Didn't buy it online, mind you, sorry Tim, but we tried it in a shop first. Of course there's nothing stopping anyone trying out a shop mattress, then buying it online.....0 -
Thanks gatita for the link, I see the 5cm is very cheap! Does anyone think this is a good idea, or is it not thick enough to make a difference? As I'm looking for a good night's sleep I am quite happy to keep on saving for a more expensive one if that would be best. Tim, what you think?0

Hi again Denbo............ I was looking for something else and found this:

Its certainly a fantastic price..........and the sellers feedback is great.
At that price worth a try eh?:rolleyes:When man sacrifices the Love of POWER for the Power of Love, there will be peace on earth.0 -

To be honest £109 seems far too good to be true. Memory foam is very expensive to produce, which is the reason why memory foam mattresses are expensive. All I can think is that this seller has:
a) bought a container load from a third world country
b) they are bankrupt stock
c) they are seconds
d) the seller is actually the foam manufacturer, and is selling high volume and very low profit.
One thing I do know for a fact is that the seller is being investigated by ebay under the VERO program because he is comparing them to Tempur.0
