As a migraine sufferer I couldn't live without my chillow pillow!

Belfastgirl you fill it with 4 pts of lukewarm water, smooth the air out of it and leave it to cool. When cooled you place it over your pillow, some people slip it inside a pillow case or sleep directly on it. It doesn't stay cold all night but does definitely keep your body temperature down. I drape my over the back of my car seat on long journeys and always take it when I'm traveling.

Sometimes when I'm on here I'm actually sitting with one wrapped round my head to soothe a headache :o

P.S. I keep mine in the fridge

Just had a look online to the memory foam link, wow, the prices! Can't afford any of those, so I will have to concentrate on a topper. Trouble is, when you start to look for memory foam toppers they are everywhere, so even more difficult to decide. hohum

not put mine in the firdge i have found i dont need to it lives in my pillow case so nice to put your head on at the end of a hard day

belfastgirl the chillow goes cold when it doesnt have any heat applied ie body temperature and then takes the heat out of your head when you lie on it
we have had ours for over a year now and they are still going strong
only thing is dont leave it somewhere warm in the day they wont be cool next time you need it

Does anyone know if the reflex foam is any good?

I can echo the opinions of a previous poster that memory foam mattresses are HOT. I had to sleep on one for several nights in a heatwave and I spent every night wringing in sweat since there's no way you dissipate the heat. They are certainly comfortable, but if you're somebody with a heat retaining body, it could end up being a very expensive bad buy.

Reflex foam is just ordinary foam (not memory foam). In other words it is like a huge sponge. So it is cheap and nasty, and very sweaty in summer.

So in answer to your question....NO!!!

There are a couple of reasons that some people say that memory foam makes you too hot:

    1) some manufacturers use very deep layers of memory foam as a sales gimmick, and tell people that the deeper the foam the better. The truth is that the optimum thickness for memory foam is 2" to 2 1/2". Less than this and it won't be enough to contour to your body. If the foam is too deep, then you will sink into it, and it will wrap around you making you too hot.

    2) mattresses with latex foam and memory foam don't allow air to circulate under the memory foam to remove the heat. This obviously isn't an issue with pocket sprung and memory foam mattresses. Memory foam does actually absorb heat from your body which then reacts with it to soften it. So as long as the heat can then disperse there is no problem.

Personally I find that I sweat less with my memory foam mattress than I did with my previous one.
