But I don`t pay high rent cells, don`t you get it yet? :rotfl:

You get what you pay for in life, there just isn't any getting away from that, I don't judge other people by their spending choices, there is always room for economising, especially if you are saving up for something. But I would normally associate somebody doing that with their rent to be in their 20's, not someone approaching 50. One of the good things about buying yourself a nice house, is that not only do you get to live somewhere nice, it is also an investment in your future. The problem with renting is that you are funding someone else's investment, even if it is a cheap craphole of a place, and of course it isn't a pleasant experience living in one of those, part of the time I did that in my 20's, when I worked in Germany and also when I was a student in Leeds, but it was a means to an end.

Obviously some people choose to rent, we might rent ourselves, when we eventually spend our winters in Spain and/or the Algarve, as I perceive problems with long distance ownership of a holiday home, and there does appear to be good deals for long term lets in the winter off season periods. But we may end up buying, as it goes back to what I said about getting what you pay for, and we want to be happy about the quality of our life, the advantage of our own holiday home is that we make it provide exactly what we want, instead of compromising (or paying over the odds).
