Well the only thing we can advise is try and convince your local magistrate. Being honest you're not very convincing so far but we can't suggest a defence nor can we advise you to state something that's not correct.

Ask for the photos and if they don't remind you then ask for it to be heard at court.

Jeez guys, back off!

Op - worth pointing out it's actually a serious offence to pervert the course of justice by naming somebody else deliberately. A lot of high profile cases over last couple of years about similar offences.
Maybe ask for a photograph - if you still don't know maybe name the most likely culprit and write a small note on it. Something like 'we are not 100% sure which of the two of us was driving but most like __'. At least that way they'd struggle to do you for dishonesty.
