@Telf29. When you say you paid off your contract at the reduced rate, would that not be just the vat adjustment?
I'd contact t mobile and ask for clarification that your account has been satisfied and advise them to intervene with one of their resellers who are causing you hassle. No payments from financial products from cash back sites? Put in a complaint direct and if they don't resolve your issue, head straight to the financial ombudsman - it costs the company £550 in referral fees, win or lose.0 -

It doesn't seem to matter what the circumstances are for the termination, only the fact it's not reached minimum term. It's not just about the money0 -

In future then, it would be pointless paying up in full and just to continue paying monthly and using the sim in another phone.
But in the end t mobile would have been paid for the full contract.
Anyway, what a horrendous company and definitely one to avoid. Best case scenario would be to buy a 2nd hand replacement handset and return that.No payments from financial products from cash back sites? Buymobiles.net are trying to con you. They do not give out handsets for free, in the hope that you stay with the network for the full term, no reseller does that.
They purchase the handsets, usually from the manufacturer, in bulk at a very reduced rate. When they sell you a contract they get the cost of the handset from the network.
The handset then becomes the property of the network, until you have reached a certain point within the minimum terms (with EE it's 6 months), then the handset is yours to do whatever.
You have paid T-Mobile (EE) the cost of terminating early (minus the VAT adjustment) so therefore have fulfilled your side of the contract.
If buymobiles.net try and persue you for the money, request that they prove to you that they have received nothing for the handset from T-Mobile (EE). If they can't then they have no basis whatsoever to request the handset back or the retail cost of it0 -

Read the T&C's, they are quoted for you above . The problem is they are the T&C's that the OP along with many others agreed to at the time.
The mere fact that they are pursuing the issue shows the true colours of the company. It's not just about the money0 -

Yes,but how did Buymobiles find out? No doubt T Mobile have a contract that allows them to recover/not pay commission.0
