Thanks Sassy,
Lidl and Aldi are not near, but they are in an area that I visit every Friday, so I will drop into them both today. Thanks for the information.
The audit showed that I desperately need a good pair of leather boots that will look great for casual or smart occasions. They will be my main footwear throughout the winter.
DS needs a thick, warm jumper and we both need thermal vests and pants. We have everything else, though I would love to update my winter coat with new accessories - hat, gloves and scarf, but that is not a necessity.
DS has a couple of lovely coats that I can sell, that he hardly wore last year, and I have a box of other items to ebay, including a few current DVD's. Theoretically my ebay sales could cover my winter purchases, with a fair wind at my back, so that is the plan.
Spider Step 23
I have an interview for the job that I applied for last week at a local University. On paper it is perfect for me, and I want to prepare really well for it, so that will be the focus of my Spider Steps for the next 7 days.
Today I will doodle a list on my Dodo-Pad of all the things that I need to do before the interview, and schedule them in, so that I am not stressed and panicking next Friday.
Any suggestions? What is the best outfit to wear for interviews?

Hey hon
That's fantastic news about the interview and top work on the planning ahead thing! I always think smart trouser suit or skirt suit looks good but it depends what the job and company is. I would imagine at a University they'd all be quite smart so maybe smart shirt, skirt/trousers & a jacket scenario?
Good luckxx

Thanks Sassy, I have decided to invest in a new suit for the occasion and a smart bag. It will have to come out of the interest free training fund, to be repaid when I am back in full time work
.
I would prefer a trouser suit, but I will see what is available.
I lost 0.5 lb, yesterday at weigh-in, which brings me to under 12 stone, so that has got off to a good start and I am determined to keep the momentum going.

Spend an hour researching the University, the department I will be working for and its key players and the interview panel. Read the job description carefully again and highlight any key competencies that will need refreshing before the interview.Training Loan - £1300.00/£1,500 (13%), Halifax CC 300.00/£925.00 (31%), OS Weight loss 7.0lb/24lb (29%), Extra inc Nov £220, Dec £532.00, Jan Ex Inc target £200.00. No worries hon, think that's a fab idea. Also, it should be something you feel comfortable in and would be happy to wear if you get the job. No point splashing out a fortune on something that you only wear once or a couple of times.
Top work on the weight loss too! You're doing really well so that momentum must keep going! Have a great weekendxx

Thanks Sassy, I will need to ensure I choose my suit wisely so that it earns its keep
.
I have thoroughly researched the job and noted three key areas that I will need to brush up on:-
1. Web site maintenance
2. Committee servicing
3. Interview techniques (questions and my responses).
I will also need to look out all the documentation I need to support my application, so that will be the focus of spider step 25. The other areas will be covered on Monday/Tuesday and Wednesday..

Evening hon
You're being very organised and methodic with this application so I hope it all goes your way. Even if it doesn't at least you'll be more prepared for future interviews.
Have a great eveningxx

Second what Sassychick says, you sound very prepared, which is the key to shining at interview. It's also their chance to get to see you and see whether they'd like to work with you - and of course once they meet you, they will be bowled over

Thank you everyone, and welcome DozyDeborah - another great name!!
The list of things that is required for this interview goes on forever. I have to be able to provide evidence for all of my stated qualifications and previous jobs. I also need to take along my birth certificate and passport.
What a headache! I can't find my University Degree Certificate or Post Graduate Certificate. I don't think I have seen either of them in 20 years, so this morning I have chased up both Universities and I can get copies, but one will cost me £10.00 and the other £40.00. One last hunt and I will bite the bullet. My referees are also going to be contacted in advance, so I have fully briefed them too. It is turning into a military operation :rotfl:. How do you cope Supersaver!!!
On a positive note, I will buy a shiny, new file to put everything in, and I will not have to pull together all this information again, for any subsequent interviews.
