Yes, WillHill had my correct address.
So are we saying the cheque was definitely banked in Northern Ireland? I live in London and the cheque was cashed exactly one week after it was printed by WillHill. Seems like it got there very quickly.
please clarify - is it a draft (as earlier posts) or a cheque?
why are you now calling it a cheque three times in one post?
:question:The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

from barclays bank
What is a banker's draft and how do I get one?
A banker's draft is useful for larger purchases. It is secure because only the named payee can use the draft.
You can, however, still have fraud involving a banker's draft so it's not 100% secure. Strictly speaking, only the named payee can use any cheque which is crossed account payee. The named payee isn't the distinguishing feature of a banker's draft. The key point is that the funds are (usually) secure - as a draft is drawn on a bank rather than the customer, you assume the bank will pay up. The risk of the draft bouncing for lack of funds is removed (at least until the financial crisis...).0 -

lol, no - given the paying and collecting banks seem to be both in NI, the opposite is implied. In particular, it could be a WH or bank employee.
That's why how long the account it was deposited into was open for it relevant - if it's a new account, it could have been opened with the a matching name. Or if it was paid through a cheque conversion shop, iffy id may have been the only thing needed.0 -

There is neither D.O.B. nor address printed on cheque and any John Smiths can cashout cheque if John Smiths is printed on it.
I'd ask WH what address did they use to post it.0 -
Different people can have same name/surname.

It's highly unlikely the postal address is the issue here - unless by fluke someone knew he had won and managed to get the address changed and etc.
Far more likely an WH/bank/postal employee has intercepted and paid into a cheque convertors with false id.0
