Neutral Feedback - as damaging as a negative.

Dont Worry Dave - tat levels will be back to normal on Thursday evening.
Never mind tat, there seems so little of anything on ebay these days.0 -
I left a negative at weekend for a guy who gave me neutral feedback.
I was selling multiple items and clearly listed the colours I had and also clearly listed the colours that had sold out ... The guy orders a colour that was never available in the first place.
He paid via paypal and I refunded him straight away and explained the reasons why. He left a neutral saying 'not stated very clear,so i had to have refund.'
Er ... it was stated very clear, more than once.
So I negged him saying 'This buyer should learn to read listings properly before buying!'0 -

Offering a choice where all options are not available is against ebay terms and conditions. The fact that you stated in your listing which colours were no longer available is immaterial, your listing could have been pulled if reported.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. What I sell is well known for being available in different colours so I told them which colours I did and didn't have.
Can it really get pulled for that?0 -
It depends. if you had say a dutch auction for 5 black ipods and seller asked for a white one then that is obviously fine. What you can't do is say you have 5 ipods in various colours and it is first come first served on the colour choice.
Your first post clearly suggested that you had 'sold out' of some colours and so that choice had been removed and that is against ebay rules.
The rules are here:
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-choice.html
2) Multiple quantity listings (Dutch auction, fixed price or shop) may offer a choice of colour in otherwise identical items. However, the seller must be able to fulfill the entire quantity of every listing in any offered colour even if every winning bidder makes exactly the same colour selection. It is not permissible to state "The highest bidder gets first choice." Choice auctions may not be offered "subject to availability" or request the buyer to contact the seller to see which colours are available or what quantity is available. This exception for choice of colour does not apply to single quantity listingsI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
