winter tyres would have been pretty pointless

I would never waste my money on such expensive follies which for the majority of the time are inappropriate for our climate, we all know that the vast majority of the UK doesn't grind to a halt when there is snow, be it half a micron or otherwise.

Winter tyres are a VERY good idea, particularly on a BMW which is RWD.

You benefit from better grip from around October onwards as the temperature drops.

The last two winters have been mild, so you pays your money and takes your chances, but if you want to stay mobile, winter tyres are a better bet than a 4x4 on summer tyres.

The rear (summer) tyres were £500, don't know how much winter tyres would have been :(

Might have saved me kerbing the NS wheels fcuking about off a mini roundabout though :p

Shall I add you to the "Haven't tried, but just know" pile, then?

I think there was a touch of irony in his post to be fair :)

I am an advocate of winter tyres and mine are ready to go on at the end of the month, but it appears that i have wasted my money on four pointless follies

Satire so subtle it was indistinguishable from so many predictable opinions...?
