I'm very much in favour of paying parents "keep" especially on your wage and at your age...but £900 per month, plus food and bills?! I'd have moved out long ago, would be cheaper to rent and you'd have your independence.
Edit:
Oh and you should worry about paying half of his parents mortgage if you move in with them, they haven't got one! You should however contribute to food and bills and help out with housework. That seems fair to me.0 -
that might be true but I didn't want to I was happy to be at home0

I agree. If the OP has been paying the parents £900 a month PLUS all food and bills then she could have saved a lot by moving out. Were your parents not paying anything themselves?0 -
for my parents me and another person in the house0

Fair enough, still seems like a lot to pay though. I'm sure your boyfriend won't dump you, he wouldn't be a very nice boyfriend if he did! So yes maybe you could have saved more, but at least you've saved something and you aren't in debt, so you're not that bad with money.0

So on one teacher's salary, you've kept four people AND managed to save £6k? I can't see how anyone could call that 'being bad with money'.0

Sorry I don't understand what that means, but yes I agree you are good at saving that's what I meant. I'm not really sure what you are concerned about, once you move in with his parents you will be able to save more and if he has been living rent free he must have decent savings too, he has no reason to dump you and you have no reason to worry.0 -
thanks savingpennies for your very kind response much appreciated0
