You dont need a deadlock letter if you can prove the complaint has not been resolved within 8 weeks. After 8 weeks you can take the complaint to the ombudsman anyway.
  • Hi its the ombudsman that has requested i have a letter of deadlock before they can proceed with the complaint

As stated, you don't need one to complain to CISAS provided you can prove you made the original complaint to Vodafone more than 8 weeks ago and they haven't resolved it.

If you didn't make a formal complaint you may need to make one and then allow another 8 weeks.

As MataNui said if it's been going on over 8 weeks you don't need a deadlock letter
When you go on the site and follow making a complaint it asks you if it's over 8 weeks

Vodafone isn't a member of CISAS. They use the Ombudsman Service instead.

  • I've been dealing with them since June about a fraudulent phone taken out in my son's name. I have complained repeatedly by phone, and yesterday had yet another bill (this time for £1,449.02)

We have jumped through all their hoops, reported the identity theft, had a crime number, hung on to the phone for literally hours and thought it was over last July when we sent them all the info they asked for.

When the latest bill came the suggestion (after yet another 1.5 hours on the phone) was that we report it to the fraud department again.

I want to go to the ombudsman (the person in customer services had never heard of an ombudsman, neither had his superior). Having found their site I need to confirm that there is a complaint going on for more than 8 weeks.

There is no way to send a complaint email, just live chat or phone; they will not give me an address to write to so how can I prove there has been a formal complaint?

    Any help would great!
