hi i'll and try and keep this short we bought a holiday through thompson on the internet on sunday and paid for it in full we bought a package deal printed the e-mail and read it in tiny letters on the 3rd page (extras)transfers not included.
All the way through the booking process it did not say transfers not included or give the option to book transfers i've rung thompson and after being transfered here and there for 3DAYS and on hold for 30mins at a time told the lines were busy because people could not pay on line because of problems with their website funny how they took my money on sunday.!
I finally spoke to the customer service they told me i booked (they sold me)a package without transfers. I argued for 30mins being put on hold then being told basically tough either pay £189for their tranfers or find your own way . They should have made this clear at the time of booking quoted abta codes of conduct etc rung trading standards they think i have a good case also rang x-ray a welsh watchdog tv programme and they seemed very interested to but we've already paid £1250 which is not that cheap i just wondered were else I can go from here to sort this before i go away I honestly thought thompson would do the right thing when they realised their mistake any help or suggetions would be really appreciated feeling really p****d off we fly on tuesday and it's just put a bit of a damper on the going on holiday feeling
thanks all  i've also posted this on the travel board

Hi, really sorry that you feel aggrieved at your experience when selecting your holiday and extras from the Thompsons website. I had no problem at all when selecting my holiday from the same website earlier in the year. The holiday extras were clearly marked as extras and included such things as transfers, meals on plane, extra leg room seats and upgrade to rooms.
The website clearly gave me the opportunity to select/deselect all or any of these according to our requirements and I found it simple and transparent (I am not in any way associated with Thompsons).
Perhaps if you are not comfortable using a website to book your holiday you should consider a travel agent next time, at least it will give you someone to blame other than yourself.0 -

A little harsh redmike. Have you read the other thread on the travel board?

I think the problem lies with the Thomson website and they may have a blip in their system.
When you do a search for a holiday it is fine until you click on the hotel and flight that you want ie the choose and continue button. Once you have clicked on this button if you look at the blue bar at the top of the web page it changes from Thomson Holiday to Build Your Own Holiday.
Could this be the reason Thomson are now stating you have not booked a holiday and therefore not including a transfer?0 -
Hi- just booked another holiday with Thompson on line. As per my earlier response to the o.p. I was able to follow the simple and clear on screen instructions and would appear to have booked the holiday of my choice, including transfers and any other extras that I required.
It strikes me that many posters on these forums are a bit simple, and llook to blame anybody other than themselves if things go wrong.
The "Vent" and "Rip Off" forums in particular have given me many hours of amusement, and I do look forward to Dave Brooker and Dangeroussports pithy comments0 -
We would look forward to them if they were pithy-unfortunately mostly very lame.0

I'm sorry to hear that the holiday you've booked with Thomson was not as you expected i.e. transfers were not included in the price you paid.
However, I would tend to agree with redmike123's comments about the cost of transfers being very clear on the Thomson website.
Some holidays advertised on the website state that transfers are included, the ones that don't state this do give you the option to pay for transfers further into the booking process.

Hi redmike, just wondered what you think the purpose of the moneysavingexpert.com website is? And what's the purpose of the Rip Off and vent forums? From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!0 -
