omg I'm one of 'them'

Grrr help! im really annoyed with myself and not sure what to do next.

I was looking on ebay last night, and there were some things all ending within minutes from the same seller.
I bid on them (2 tshirt and 2 pairs of shorts for my son) the postage was £2.80 per listing which sounded around about cost price. I won all 4 and asked for a total invoice which they have sent but the postage is still £11.20 (2nd class royal mail) :(

I know I saw the postage before I bid but if they have given me a combined invoice and are happy to send it in one parcel that is too much extra on top.

I will not pay £11.20 for something which is going to be around £5 a bit more is just about acceptable to me but not double it and add a bit.

what can I do now?

Ask them to reduce the P&P costs? They can only say "no" after all.

I would send a message explaining and apologising for your error and asking if they would kindly consider offering a postage discount. If the seller decides not to offer a discount, then accept your NPB strike and move on having learned a lesson.

I've done the same recently. My fault because I made an assumption that the seller would be reasonable and send me a combined postage charge. I didn't think to check the listing to see if they offered that.

I sent a message asking if she would combine the postage, and she ignored me. So after a couple of days I paid the full amount.

The 2 items arrived in one parcel, wrapped in a used supermarket plastic bag, so hardly expensive packaging. I could see from the postage label that she'd made an extra £8 out of me in postage.

But the thing that annoyed me the most was that she ignored my message, even a reply saying No would have been preferable.

If your seller doesn't alter the postage after you've sent a message, then it's up to you to pay however much it seems wrong, you won the bids on the items.

    I've learnt a lesson, I won't do that again!

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?
  • Sellers should really combine shipping, the funny thing is though, even if sellers offer free postage, some buyers will still want discounts.

How funny, I had this exact same scenario a couple of months ago - even down to the carrier bag packaging. It was the being ignored that annoyed me most, I wasted a little over a week trying to get in touch.

Think you've replied to the wrong post as your response makes no sense in relation to the OP.
