I see it more as they don't want people who know what they're talking about if it costs them sales - probably a "sell at any cost" mentality rather than truthful advice about what is best for a customers needs.

You may well be correct. Many companies don't like to take people on that they consider to be over qualified.

OTOH it may just have been a standard "no thanks" letter because they hired somebody else they liked better for some reason or other.

Well I sent a long-winded complaint to their Facebook page yesterday and just got a reply. They want me to send it via PM or email along with some other details - might do it to both. I already sent it on twitter, let's bombard them!

Just thought I'd update.

Ended up waiting a while for a reply but got a phone call from them today.

The guy on the phone was really apologetic about everything and was annoyed that the girl in the shop was trying to sell me antivirus that wasn't needed and that she should have known that.

Long story short, got a £25 voucher coming in the post
