It's been somewhat quiet here, but everything's very twinkly. :xmastree:
The sheep left last week, having chomped their way down to the roots of the grass. Pete had somewhere else to take them, but he's left the bale feeder, so that's a clue they might return, dreckly. I like Pete, but he doesn't tell me what his plans are, so I have to read the runes. :undecided

DWs recent excursion into the world of glitzy retail certainly paid dividends. In 3 weeks or so she earned more than our profit in gate sales over the past 2 years! :DWhat's more, she had a lovely time, meeting many old friends and customers rom our own market days. However, her working hours were to a very punishing schedule. :( It was long enough.

For once, we shall end the year solvent, and we'll have new specs too......... a reliable cement mixer would also be nice.

Nothing worse than an unreliable cement mixer Dave. We not long ago sold ours as we think we'd finished all we had to do with it.

Cold and clear here with drizzle but not too bad a day. Did some repairing of the track with some quarry grit. I don't seem to be doing much at all.

We've been fairly restrained here, given the youthfulness of guests. :D

It would have been nice without the incessant rain and wind on Boxing Day, which stopped us walking it off.:(

Just reading mostly. Christmas Day lovely and sunny but I hardly had time to step outside. Boxing Day when I did have time was rain, rain, rain.
A hen died on boxing Day but I think she was a good age, she was always apart from the others, always last to come for treats, always a bit different, although bought with the others I suspect she was from a different flock and older and she was a much darker brown colour too. They all got on, I shall miss her.
Not too many eggs from the rest 2 from 19 most days
Four more bird feeders installed, mum so likes to watch them.
I went to visit my son who bought a house in July and has so far failed to understand that he has to 'do the garden'. Two beautiful standard bay trees died in the summer. The window box wasn't watered from July till October. I said he should tidy it up as it looked such a mess. Yesterday he proudly showed me 15 geraniums in full leaf with 7 flowers. In December!! He said he doesn't know what all the fuss is about when I faff about with overwintering and taking cuttings, etc:o
