I believe I must have my very own guardian angel :D
Well, I'd say you deserve one. :A Good news.
My guardian angel has ensured some fabulous weather here too while I've been digging out a soakaway run for our big path. It's all systems go now, with a 12m perforated pipe, lovingly encased in geofabric by DW, all ready to go in as soon as I've added the gravel....Then, it's supposed to rain a lot! :D

Sam had surgery and two pins inserted. Had to wait all of Monday in the hospital, as another child suddenly needed his theatre time.....Be grateful for small blessings, eh?

Selling squash. We have around 80 of them and they're going well, along with the last of the courgettes and toms. :D

Pleased Sam is through the surgery - what a shame that one so young has to go through such a thing.

Please Alfie that you are having help with vets fees.

Everyone else I hope get's a good time of it.

It's rained solid for two days and the place is waterlogged. Can't believe how much water has come down. The little bridge that OH built years ago is looking battered & the stones at the side are gone - concreted in but washed asunder.

Hospital today but seems I have a benign tumour on my lung which they will keep monitoring. That was quite a scare especially as I only was told 2 months after the X Ray when I wanted the results and they then sent me for a Cat Scan. Just as well it was benign.

Th etrees are looking marvellous all changing colours. Looks a lovely day today out & about. Makes a change as we have had it so wet.

Yes, except that he lives a 2 miles from the centre of Brum! Gets out a bit though.;) He was back at nursery school yesterday. He was just unlucky, as he's careful on the bike and fairly aware of dangers all round.

Choille, that's reassuring news :), but it must've been scary waiting for it. :eek:I remember, you said you'd a bit of a health scare a while ago.

DW is on the edge of a problem with her walking again, but can't get back to the acupuncture person without first going through physio, which takes an age. :( She is still doing dog walks 3x a week with a friend, just for 1/2 an hour. On the last one, the friend's dog caught a baby fox and presented it to them. They released it, bleeding a bit, but it shot off, looking not too badly injured. :o

We had a Panto meeting last night in the pub and decided to skip a year, then try to re-group in 2020. So many stalwarts have left for different reasons that we can't move forward right now....can't even get a cast, let alone all the other jobs. :(

In connection with that, does anyone know Better Days' email address, or even her name? She's not been on here for a year or so. I have her address....roughly speaking...but not sure of the house no, so sending a letter without at least a name is pretty useless. PM me if you can help. :A

Glad to hear your grandson is ok Dave, and fantastic news Alfie.
Trying to plot a way to work via the local radio, storm Callum is turning into a doozy a lot of trees down, Cornwall Council like most have been cutting back for years on hedge maintenance due to budget cuts so end up paying the price of that during the storms, Be interesting to see if one of the polys roofs made it through the night. its been on borrowed time for about 2 years and unable to be patched anymore.
Hopefully the wind will lose some strength as its moves East but stay safe everyone is really is a doozy of a storm.

It's not doing a lot here that's particularly unusual ATM, just blowing a bit and there's some rain, but no biblical deluge.

I guess that could all change yet.

It was pretty blowy in the night but not as bad as we were all expecting - bit wimpy naming winds here in the Highlands someone said yesterday. It rained a lot again but nothing like the other day when Oban was badly flooded out & quite a few land slides.

So having a gap year from the panto will be good I think Dave - you can still dress up in ladies clothes if you like!!!

I have an alder I planted - rescued it when it was only a few inches high in a ditch that was being cleared - it's massive bit loads of cross branches I must do something about - would now be a good time? Anyone know.

Sun coming out. Managed to track down some laminate that we'd run out of - not the same but very similar & it's on the steps in the hall so will match in but a couple of days scanning the internet & many phone calls later. Relief.........

Quite wild out there now and we're apparently cut off from some places of civilisation, but DW has still gone off to post a parcel......:(

I've only been in 6 productions, choille; three as a male and three as a female, so that makes me gender-neutral.:p :D Anyway, the costumes aren't coming here at present, so I can't strut around the fields dressed as Queen Victoria.... or Sherlock Holmes.

I'd wait till the alder's leaves are gone so you can see the structure for pruning, but alders aren't very fussy about the way they're treated.

A kind reader of this thread has sent me Better Days' email address.:j Big thanks!:A
