Thank you all so much for your kind words. So glad we were able to take her out into the sunshine for one last walk and some high quality sniffs round the gate posts. A very hard day.It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

Lovely pic BD, seems you have lots of great memories. It's so hard when the time comes even when you've had time to prepare, thinking of you x
I nearly had to ask my doggies tonight "who peed?" As there was a puddle on the floor in the dog room....one of them is a regular leg lifter in there and has a permanent guilty look on his face but I quickly realised it was my coat from earlier this evening dripping everywhere!
What a filthy day! Wet through to the skin and every coat is soaking so I'm off to my bed!0 -
A lovely old dog by the look of her, Better Days. Such dignity in that face, despite her difficulties.
As the others have said, she's not hurting now, and although it's been a tough day for you, you'll look back and know that you did right by her, just as you always did. :A0 -
BD - sorry to hear your sad news. What a beautiful looking dog. She had a special life with you.
Weather here is quite unspeakable - we even had snow today, not much, but Fer Freaks sake.
Been listing on the Bay, so not done much else. LetPudey cat out for a bit today & he ran like the wind - like a wee bullet he was. Let off some steam. Poor thing. He's now sleeping like a log, soit did him a power of good.
Pulled a muscle that affects my neck & also have water behind my ear drum so things feel a tat unreal especially if I bend down. The garden is a complete disgrace, but it's so ridiculously wet I'm sure my tatties have rotted. 2nd time my rhubarb has flowered. What's that about?0 -
Power out for a while tonight, as half of our new consumer unit went down, almost taking dinner with it.
However, apart from extra-crunchy broccoli, it was OK.
I slowly restored circuits until the one with a fault came to light, or rather blew the lights, but as nothing's labelled yet, I'm not sure what it does....not much anyway.
The good news is that plastering should re-commence on Wednesday. :T
The slightly bad news is that DD2, who's with us at present, wasn't impressed with our choice of kitchen, much to the consternation of the guy in the kitchen shop. She's probably right, being an artist with a very solid understanding of colour & form. It wasn't all negative, as she chose a colour & style we'd considered earlier, before chickening-out, and that's cheaper too.
More thinking hard!:(

I pulled in our scarecrow last night because of the wind, and left him at the bottom of the stairs.
Later kiwi dog saw him ( though was with me when he came in) and probably had forgotten, and started to bark furiously at the bloke looming by the front door.
I'm having a real cup of tea ( not some herbal thing) before heading out this morning.0 -
Morning all,
What a stinking night/ morning. They gave flooding notices for parts of our valley, so I dread to think what damage has been done.
Got someone coming to buy 3 piglets this morning, that should be fun and games as they are outside in the big run, which last night was like a bog, and piglets and mam were all brown, with mud lol...they will be so diff to the last time he seen them in the shed all nice and clean lol..
LIR, lol dog barking at the scarecrow..
Davesnave.. Glad you got the electrics sorted.
Choille.. I hope last nights weather hasn't done too much damage up with you.Work to live= not live to work0 -
Dave - Hope electrickery is sorted. We had a begger of a job with a light with fan in for wee toilet - turns out it was actually wired the wrong way!
Very dark & wet outdoors - poor cat must wonder where he's come.
Highland Council were issuing weather alerts yesterday, but it wasn't any more disgusting than usual, but with all the water logged ground maybe some places are flooded.
Slow start today as feeling ruff after listing until midnight last night.0 -
Well, despite the weather just being stinky and not the whoop di whoop the weather forecast was forecasting I have some garden damage. The irises are flattened mainly.
But I need to have a word with the virginia creeper. Its starting to turn colour already, showing its opinion of this year's weather offering!0
