Disgusting here weather wise - all sleet & freezing rain after a night of hail storms. Back to living inside a drum so not much sleep had.
Track is getting quite spongy with all the rain & sleet.
Good to be back on-line. No energy to do owt but keep warm.0 -

When's the Rayburn likely to be working?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Our plumber is having major problems & has gone underground at the mo, but he is having a real load of stuff going on in his life.
Doesn't help us and we have a guy who could finish the kitchen plastering off up staying local-ish this week......but he can't do that until the plumbers been & done all the pipe work. I just don't have the energy to cry about this.0 -
Ouch.
All I can offer is an on-line ((((hug)))).
Anyone know where to dig up the plumber???If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
hi all.. strange day today ! took mum for her biopsy today but her blood results werent there [cos of her warfarin] so they couldnt do it
! then had to go arrange blood test again ... not till friday so biopsy booked for next tuesday.. while i was in hosp bumped into my local harbour master who said there had been a bad accident outside my lane where a young lad had died.. ! i immediatly called my son... no reply [5 calls ].... panic ! he eventually replied [in the bath] and i breathed again
.... after dropping mum off i couldnt get to my house as police everywhere. whole 2 mile of road shut off.. i eventually got a police escort to my drive/lane. apparently they were banning gawpers/journalists. poor someone got a call us parents all dread...:( he was only early twenties, didnt take the bend
sadly must have been belting it in a 40mph zone.. unfortunately one of the largest remaining forest oaks was there. so so sad. ..................

How sad Alfie. There was a few nasty ones lately.
The plumber has a mobile that is always not switched on. He's in a reet pickle so don't want to stress him, but .......
There's been a shar paie [sp?] cross dog left tied up at a station with a bag with it's bowl, toy & blanket. It's so sad. I've contacted the SSPCA as I would love to give it a home, but they are inundated....so there are good uns out there. God if we got a home check I think we wouldn't be considered given the state of the caravan.......It's disgusting weather.

Alfie, that is soooo awful ( Rip who ever you are)..
I am like you, if there is any accident, or incident I always make hubby phone our boys to make sure they are ok...I worry myself sick about them on times...
Ras I am sure I have seen that programme before..
Choille, they have given really bad weather for the end of the week here... hope it doesn't get any worse up with you...
Poor dog, I heard about it on the radio..Work to live= not live to work0 -
Young men and cars....it was always the way.
We have a few well-tended shrines on the A377, including one sited at a massive tree, though not on a bend. Another is in a lay by, which would be odd, but it's next to the most dangerous bit of the road I'm aware of, as judged by the number of accidents I've seen there.
Are plumbers involved in some sort of conspiracy? Consider the evidence:
Mr Rod is a plumber, of sorts. I've seen how he 'answers' his mobile....he seems permanently perplexed by it. Hardly saw one good connection while he was here! :rotfl:
T'other plumber, who we had a few weeks ago, leaves his in the van and doesn't seem to answer his home phone first time. He says they have three and everyone's confused by them....work that out!
Plumber 3, who was supposed to be here yesterday at 9am, is still AWOL and incommunicado.
I think we deserve to be told....0 -
After my bathroom last year I developed a plumbers curse. May your home's plumbing be as good as my home's.
I feel it covers both ends of the possibility, good or bad work.0 -
Bought floor tiles for one end of the house today, having decided to go with the same ones all the way through hallway, utility and cloakroom. It was between an indie on the trading estate and Topps tiles, because both were doing deals on tiles we liked in the run-up to Christmas. Guess who couldn't do a similar deal now!
The indie was the cheapest by about £9 a m2.
Also found a cloakroom suite which seemed very reasonable, but that was after they had discounted it by 40% and then removed another 20%. This leads me to wonder if anyone ever pays the quoted prices. Agree with you, choille, Vicky Plumb looks pretty good for the basics.0
