  • Commiserations, Bobarella. Never a good time to have an emergency but it always seems worse at Christmas somehow.

    But that's what patman set up the challenge for, so that we'd all have something to fall back on for just such eventualities. I'm really chuffed that I've started my EF but whatever's in it is already earmarked for a current car emergency that will need to be fixed in January. This time I won't be suffering that blind panic that I usually get when unexpected funds are needed. I can always try hard to build up the pot again and so will you.

  • Just done a Tilly tidy with my current account I've now got £9.53, not much but it's a start, and more than I had saved for an EF before :)

    Payday today so transferred £20 to my EF - so £79.14! Next month I'll make it up to a round £100 and then I'll be 10% of the way there!
    Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
    Current debt - £5,555.00
    Total paid off - £10,045.89 (64% paid off)
  • Have got £18 ready to put in the credit union which will take me up to £57. This is the first time that I have had any form of savings :)
    Saving for Christmas 2017 £120/£400 :beer:

    Thankfully my oven repair was possible and only came to £75 but it reinforces even more how important this challenge is. Thanks for the sympathy all.
