I have made it to £1000. Thank you Patman for setting up this thread.
I'm going to head over to the 3 - 6 month EF thread, and aim to build this alongside paying off my debt. Hopefully by the end of next year I'll be debt free and with three months of my salary saved up for an Emergency / Opportunity fund.https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6086606/debt-free-by-23/p1

I haven't been on much as I'm throwing everything I have at clearing my debt by the end of April. I will then have a better, less precarious starting point for properly seeing how much EF I have, and then I'll start building it up more from there. Very exciting times - but it's going SOOOOOOO slowly. 19 more sleeps until we're debt free!!Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

I have finally made it to £1000 It is such a relief to be able to nor worry as much about the smallest thing.
@aimeemum well done for getting your debt sorted. I am doing that painfully slowly, as there is no quick way of getting out of it in any way shape or form.

We got there - we're officially down to less than £500 of debt, most of which will be gone by June
as that's when the payments finish.
I'm now waiting very impatiently for the next few paydays so I can move on to the next goals of holiday spending, car funds (both repair and replacement) and building up a true EF. Hopefully I'll be doing weekly updates from now on!Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

I'm signing up for this, please? I'm paying off a lot of debt, and with a car service and MOT coming up, as well as Xmas, I don't think I'll be able to put much aside until after Xmas but I'll try to, and hopefully after Xmas it'll come together nicely!Live the good life where you have been planted.
