Starting over,
Not saving for a wedding right now any more.
Nothing bad has happened but there is a lot i want to save for before the big day,
like having a financial cushion for us, as I've been ill a lot recently. I would like to learn to drive & purchase a car awell as buying a laptop.
I moved all my savings into my savings builder account and renamed it Emergency fund.
I have £286.17 in there now, so I've completed 29% of it already.

#269 just updating - balance of big fat zero! At least it was spent on emergency expenses, but still frustrating! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Just getting used to being monthly paid again. As of last week, I now have a permanent contract of employment rather than the 3 month rolling one I was initially employed on.
It came about due to the chap I was brought in to assist having a fight with another guy over a bit of rubbish that had dropped out of a skip.
HLB10, that is what the EF is for. It means you have the money set aside for when an emergency happens.Never Knowingly Understood.

Definitely frustrating but imagine if you never had the fund in the first place...we severely dented ours several times over the last few months

I've moved a lot of my money in my other sinking funds,
I have £106.00 in my emergency fund for general things
but I've put away for "individual" emergencies or needed things.
£34.40 for Medication (4 x £8.60) - I get ear infections a lot in winter
£60.00 - for clothes , I may need to get some more undies / work trousers / shoes as mine are wearing out
£50.00 for home products - I'm finding that I use a lot of my budget to buy home items
Gifts - £50 , I've got a few birthdays coming up
Christmas - I already had £56 stashed away but moved £5 over to have 2 months (of £31)

You're all right - that is what the EF is there for - I would just like it to maybe have £100 in it for more than a week :rotfl:
I had 2 payments today from prolific studies and quidco, and have rounded down the joint account so my EF now stands at a staggering £13.97 :T
