Think shamefully this is the most savings I've ever had
Hey that is great news!!! :j
Maybe you never had a goal before?
Your goal here is £1000 but hey - that is just the beginning!!Debt free 24/03/2015./ On Dave Ramsey's Baby Step 3./Full Emergency Fund 2500/6000./ Got mortgage on the 28/08/15./ 2015 MFW #117 1242.89/20000 -
Well, as of Tuesday, I have over £1,000 in my everyday account. Apart from when I had 16 years worth of redundancy back in 2010, this is the first time since 1991 that I have been in this position.
I must admit that it does feel good, although I do need to book the car in for its 10k service and have my contents insurance coming up, so this will drop below that magic figure.Never Knowingly Understood.

patman, that's wonderful news. I'm so happy for you:T
After all the effort you've made to find work and the way you always help others (not least all of us wannabe Emergency Funders on here:rotfl:) you deserve every success:beer:. Let's hope the car service doesn't throw up anything expensive that you weren't expecting.
Helen I hope things are going well for you. You sound cheerful anyway:T0 -
Well done everyone keep going - whether it's a few pennies or £s in a tilly-tidy-up or a little bit on payday or an unexpected windfall - it will all add up!
Been a very expensive week for me - had to take my mum to her 'local' hospital for surgery ..... nearly a 100 mile round trip - 2 days running + 60 from her to me so fuel bill has been huge this week (about an extra £40ish)
Also had my wheels changed (winter to summer) so that was another £60

rising from the ashes: Am empathising with you over fuel costs as being in a very rural area myself even the simplest journey such as to the nearest Post Office eats up money daily. I'm glad I don't have the problem and expense of winter/summer tyres down here:j. I hope your Mum is on the mend now:beer:
Hope78: Well done, that's a great amount saved:T. Onward and upward now:beer:0 -

Thank you - spoke to her last night & she's recovering well Winter tyres are an absolute godsend here - they're worth their weight in gold imho (especially as I drive an auto as you def don't have as many options slowing on ice etc in one)
Finally got around to closing down an old savings account that I've not used for ages but kept around 'just in case'
£31.42 ..... so £30 into the EF and £1.42 towards a treat for me (no idea what yet! there's a little pot of coins gathering - mostly coppers :rotfl:)
£150.86 in the EF in my bank, £303 in the account I can't get at (I really MUST write to close this one this weekend ) and £100 in my current account earmarked for the EF (makes the balance on this look a little better!) so that's a wonderful grand total of £553 :T
Sad that the house maintenance needs to come off it! BUT at least I've got money to pay it and have a little left afterwards
Pets fund has taken a bit of a hit as the dog needed a wee vet trip and also some physio which has come to £55 - so back to £189 in there.....Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
