Which handset?

I agree. My point was that with it's 32Gb memory and a better screen it definitely wasn't 'miles behind' even without the card slot.0

My wife loves her Nokia 520 as well, she also isn't all that techie and doesn't care about all the missing apps that go with having a WP8 phone, but then, she has an iPad for banking etc.
It just depends on whether you will miss all the apps not available for WP8 or not.====0 -

I said if it was my choice. To me WP is miles behind Android as a useable mobile platform. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
On the gadget show the S5 came out ahead of Sony.
Why choose the Z1 on here instead of the S5 mini?
S5 mini is what I would have choose
or is it down to price?Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0 -

Compare the memory, cameras and CPUs?
Sony's main disadvantage is non-removable battery.0 -
My personal opinion on the matter would be that I prefer a phone with a decent UI and touchwiz certainly isn't that. I haven't been genuinely impressed with a Samsung device since back when the S2 came out.
I would always chose one of Moto G, LG G2/G3, Moto X/new version coming soon or Nexus 5/new version coming soon depending on budget/criteria but then again I'm not buying on contract anymore. For contract I would look past HTC and Samsung, which IMO are good but grossly overpriced, and look at Sony who have an excellent UI now and sublime hardware. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Bumping this thread for help.
I have a legacy handset that I am desparate to change. Its a Samsung Galaxy ACE and basically sh*t but I happened to get a good deal on the contract at the time (2 years ago). I've now come out of this contract and have a new SIM, which can be turned into a micro SIM. Now's the time to get a decent handset but I don't know where to start. I don't want to spend a fortune but do want to narrow the field before I waste time playing wioth lots of different models.
I also have an iPhone for work - having perhaps the best and the worst of devices, I barely use the Samsung device, in part because of the Vodafone signal but I've now changed to a contract I'm happy with. Am struggling to work out how to pick a new handset to match my needs though. I'm not fussy, I just want something that works well - some of the design issues I have with the Galaxy ACE are the slowness of response, keypad size and general crapness. I need something that is reliable and works quickly. Most online advice from stores is very basic, what would really solve this is a mobile phone chooser algorithm. Can anyone recommend an upto date UK one? Have searched but everything seems to be ad-based.
