We found that it lagged terribly when using it to watch Netflix
Very much dependent on your net connection, but mine works fine, with Dolby Digital Plus sound (via Android tablet) and very good HD picture (28Mb connection).

I've thought about buying one mainly for BT Sport & iPlayer. I'd use it via my iPad but is there anyway to watch the films which are on my iPad via the Chromecast and what other things could I do with the Chromecast via iPad, I know about YouTube, Netflix and Now TV; but is there anything else that makes it worth buying.

I know there are more things you can do with it with an Android device, I'm just interested with things via the iPad.

    Cheers

If you want an all encompassing iPad to tv experience you'd be much better off with an Apple TV.

I bought one of these when Tesco were selling them for £18 or so. I used it a couple of times and then stopped. It is rather limited in its use.

I bought one when they were on offer and never opened it.

Once I had it I realised there was nothing I needed it for so it went back for a refund.

wiogs - you should try to control your impulse buying!

Chorlie - nothing to do with Chromecast, but iPad instead - lots of video apps (definitely the Sky app) will not allow viewing stuff on a bigger TV so be careful about what stuff it is you want to view on the big screen.

Hello. How are you ? Do any of you have the google chromecast ? If so is it any good ? What are the features of it ?

Perhaps this will be easier if you say what features you want and we say if it will meet them?

I really like mine. I got it for my birthday in July. My only issue with it was that my cable suddenly stopped working. Luckily it's only a bog-standard micro-usb so I used an old phone charger cable instead.

The connectivity on mine is a bit hit and miss. It'll take ages to find on wif and sometimes the connection cuts off. I've got a Monty Python playlist saved on Youtube which plays continuously but sometimes one episode has finished and the next one plays through my phone and not the telly!

I like the new casting screen feature, I use it to play games now.

I was passing the shop and thought it looked like a deal, but sadly for me it wasn't

At least being able to return it, it cost me nothing other than ten minutes of my time.
