Realised last night that I haven't bought hubby anything from DS for Christmas, so will need to find a little gift to give him. It's only something token but we like doing it and the kids will probably like picking something themselves when they are older and understand it more. No idea what I'll get though yet, but sure I'll find something.
Most of my parcels have arrived now. Have 4 or 5 more to come, but I think at least 3 of those will be arriving today. Annoying how Am*zon split packages up so things come in dribs and drabs as I only actually made 2 orders, but will end up with 8 or 9 different deliveries from them. Just need to pick up some wrapping paper tomorrow and then I can have a mad wrapping session this weekend
Decided no point in transferring the £10 from that sale into my account though as I will only use it to buy wrapping paper anyway so may as well just spend the cash and drop any leftover change into my various pots. Don't have a loose change pot, only one for 50p, £1 and £2 coins, so I need to find a pot for loose change as well. My husband will think I've gone pot crazy!Debt free since May 20150 -
Hmmm, no parcels turned up today which is typical as I am working tomorow! Hopefully they'll leave them with a neighbour.
Did manage 3 hours overtime today from home, which is fab. I hate doing it, but it's more money into the pot before I go on mat leave. Counting down the days until I finish now. Can't wait!
Still can't believe we are only 22 days days away from Christmas. It just seems mad to me how quickly it's come around.Debt free since May 20150 -
2 parcels arrived today and 2 or 3 more expected tomorrow. Managed to get my wrapping paper today too, so hoping to get wrapping this weekend. Used the £10 note I got from the item I sold on Monday...paper cost me £3 for 10m from Sainsbobs and I got a £5 note and £2 coin back in change. Coin has gone into my £2 pot and the fiver will stay in my purse for now until I decide what I need to do with it. Need a thank you present for my son's childminder for when he finishes for good in 3 weeks, so may get her a little box of chocs with it.
Other than that, it's been a pretty busy, but boring day. Been at work all day so a had to use fuel and spent the £3 on paper. Did take a packed lunch in though, and ignored loads of nice looking stuff in the supermarket that was calling my name. Need to put some fuel in tomorrow for work but that is budgeted for already so hoping for a NSD.
3 weeks until Christmas Day. So excited about it now. I love Christmas. 2 weeks until I finish for mat leave too. So ready for it now. Felt totally exhausted at work today, I'm really finding it a struggle doing things now.
Anyway, off to read some diaries and have a catch up on here as never get on when it's a work day.Debt free since May 20150 -
Me again. Just noticed my emergency fund is set at £367.25 so have transferred £2.75 from my main account to round it up to £370. Hate uneven numbers!Debt free since May 20150

What a pooey old day today. Thank god it's Friday as I've got 5 days off now. Got a few hours overtime to do in the evenings next week, but have the days free to myself.
None of my expected parcels arrived today so hoping they will come tomorrow. Really want to start wrapping but want to lay everything out first to check I have everything I need. Hate wrapping so much, but love giving presents to people.
Not much has happened today at all. Managed a NSD and didn't have time to put any fuel in, so must do that tomorrow as I drove home on the light. Hate this part of the month when most of your bills have gone out and there isn't much you can do.
Hope you've all got some nice weekend plansDebt free since May 20150 -
Early start for me this morning. Why do toddlers always seem to sleep in later on the mornings you have to go to work, yet are up with the birds on your day off? 6am is not fun!
Going to have a final attempt to sell the bits I have been trying to get rid of for the last few weeks. If they don't go this weekend then hubby is taking them to the tip as we need to get rid of them before this baby arrives. Taking up too much space and we have no storage as it is. Most of the bits are things I was given so I'm not really losing money on them, but would be nice to make a few extra pennies to throw into my pots or emergency fund.
Also realised last night that if I can use my expenses claim on payday towards my emergency fund, then I should be able to make it up to £500. Am epecting about £200 back, so £130 into the fund and the other £70 into my car MOT pot. Any money made from the overtime I'm doing can then go into the MOT pot ready for April. We need a couple of tyres, due a mini service and needs something doing to the suspension else it will fail, so we're expecting a hefty bill. Will be split between me and DH but I'd rather have cash put aside for it ASAP so I can get on with saving up for everything else.
Need to make a list of things to do today/tomorrow I think, as work better from lists, but first things first...cup of tea and some toast. *Yawn*Debt free since May 20150 -
Well my day hasn't been overly productive so far
*I have listed the things for sale again, on some local selling sites, but no interest as yet.
*Tried to sell some brand new books I have, but half of the sites don't want them and Am*zon Marketplace isn't working. Was offered £5.50 for 5 brand new, untouched books that cost about £7-8 each. Not sure what else to do with them or whether to just accept that £5.50 is all I'll get.
*Was supposed to be a NSD but hubby needed a fiver for football and loaned one off me as he had no cash and I had exactly £5 in my purse...not sure I'll see it again now.
*Still need to put some washing on.
*Still need to hoover and polish the downstairs
*Only 1 of my expected parcels has turned up so far
Good things:-
*Will be eating all meals from what we already have in
*Pinec*one appears to be recruiting so have requested to sign up
*Joined Nect*r canvass survey for some extra points.
Struggling today. Baby has wedged her foot up into my rib and I just can't get comfortable at all. It's really quite sore as she keeps kicking and scraping against it. So much for getting loads done todayDebt free since May 20150 -
Finally sold 2 of the items I advertised earlier. Only for £5.50 but it's more money in my pocket and junk out of my house! Picking them up on Monday.
Confirmation that one of my main parcels is coming on Monday too, which is good news. It's one of hubby's presents so I can hide it and wrap it while he's at work.Debt free since May 20150 -
Is it Monday again already?!
Someone is picking up the 2 items I sold later today for £5.50 so hopefully will be in coins so it can go into my pots. If not, I will just have to try and get to the bank to pay it in, or I guess I could spend it on something out of one of my budgets and just transfer £5 over to my emergency fund instead.
Still waiting on 3 items to be delivered from my Christmas shopping. Hoping they come today. The money has left my account so fingers crossed they will arrive so I can get all the wrapping done. Just need 1 more present for hubby from the kids. Hate buying daddy presents as there are only so many you can get and it gets a bit repetetive.
Also discovered that me and DH have saved up £57 of nectar points between us, so think I might use those to cover the extra bits we will need for the Christmas food shop. That will give us a budget of £120 to cover us from 23rd to 29th and double my normal weekly budget, so more than doable as we're off to family for a couple of days too. That also means that the £60 I had budgeted for extra food in my Christmas savings can be put towards something else...possibly a couple of last minute bits for when I go into labour and the rest can go into my emergency fund.
This saving lark can be addictive can't it! Used to get a huge buzz from spending money (and probably still would if I had money to just spend willy-nilly) but the buzz I get from saving and seeing the pots grow is just as satisfying, just in a different way. Think it's because I can see it is my future that is being saved up for (ie: house deposit) so massive incentive to keep going.

Well, lady collected the 2 sold items, gave me £6.00 and told me to keep the 50p change. Means I potted £1 into my pot and have a £5 note in my purse. Will need to go to the bank on Thursday as my lovely aunt has sent money for my son for Christmas, so I can go and pay it all in at the same time.
2 of my parcels arrived, but no sign of the last one yet. Hope it hurries up as I am back in the office on Thursday and Friday so don't want to miss the delivery. Hopefully it will come tomorrow.
Managed a NSD today which is a good start to the week at least. Think I'm going to spend some time tomorrow finding some more things to sell, so I can make some more dosh and get rid of some more junk. Really starting to feel the nesting urge nowDebt free since May 20150
