    a 22 hour shift?! :eek: Maybe I am misunderstanding.
    .
    :rotfl:I think the Op means his shift times vary and can start or finish anywhere between these times.

    It was briefly mentioned earlier in this thread, but needs to be repeated: Jobcentres do have budgets to spend money to enable their 'customers' to get back into work. That should be the OP's first option.

    I couldn't get two taxis a day doing 15 mile trips for 5 days where I live for less than £50.
    Clearly the OP would only have to take a taxi on those occasions when his shift started or finished in the early hours. So, as I said, it would be cheaper (though no more ideal) than a Pay Day Loan which I strongly suggest the OP is not enticed into taking.

    I mentioned that and the OP acknowledged it here;

    I had no idea you could ask the job centre for a loan. Another avenue I can explore.

    Ask the bank's HR dept if they can advertise for a car share arrangement
    It's the Bank who won't grant him a loan, his employer is not the Bank.;)

  • An electric bike could be a cheaper option...could be bought on credit card (assuming you have one)

    I have an electric bike and I love it. I use mine for commuting every day as public is pretty poor and expensive in Aberden. I find it faster and less stressful cycling in and I don't have to worry about finding somewhere to park. It might be an option worth exploring.
