Hi All
I've decided for better or for worse to swap to an Apple Macbook (or Macbook Pro) instead of buying a new PC and upgrading all of my PC software.
I can't seem to work out how to get a bargain/discount price for a Macs and Mac software? Anyone got any advice (other than buy a PC instead)?
I'm going to make the purchase in a couple of months when the new OSX comes out. I'll be a student by then so that might mean I can get some cheap software.
Thanks in advance.

If you're a student then you'll be able to go through the Education website and get a considerable discount plus three years warranty.2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0

Apple computers are 'lifestyle' products - they're no better or worse than anyone else's - and as such they charge a premium for them. If you want to move into their world that's what you have to accept. If you're looking for a bargain laptop then you'll be buying another PC.
If you're prepared to learn a new operating system - and you would need to anyway if moving from PC to Mac - why not try Linux? Ubuntu is very popular and newbie-friendly and it comes with a large repository of excellent free software.
Anyway, best of luck with whatever you decide!0 -

theres an even bigger discount for students - the higher education discount as opposed to the education discount. you need to go through a computer on a participating higher educations establihment to get it (there is a link you can find on the internet if you can find it). If you phone apple they'll let you know more about it and have been known to offer it over the phone. Oh and DO buy a mac they are easy to use and just work.0 -
i'm a mac fanboy too! and i'd say, if you want a cheaper one, sign up to a free course then ring them and ask them if it qualifies (it will!
