Good Morning INOD
I finish just before Christmas unless I request to exit sooner. I would only do that if I got another job of course......if they should need me to start pronto.
Naughty again and.........Shhhhh.........I am doing no work at all now.......just 'working' my notice . That is understood so not really naughty.......who wants me to be involved and messing up their new 'robust plans?!!' :rotfl:
Good Morning Miss Skinnylatte
Thanks. The MB is something I have been aware of for ages and I have to come clean to say that backing and laying is no stranger to me at all. (Shhhhh.....naughty again
.) I did it extensively but stopped about three years ago as I HAD to address Brogden's D.D. without distraction and avoid any possibility of 'acker-leakage.'
Contrary to Mrs. B's thoughts, the activity with the bookies and exchanges was not remotely the cause of the 'D.D.' That was due to a simple and prolonged accounting failure :rotfl:!!!
In my previous activity I ignored all bonuses / offers / free bets etc but now that is what it is all about!! I am taking zero risk now. It is wilfully slow and I am not going at anything like Skinny speed
. I have made profit of just over £50 from MB in the last two weeks plus £33 from fleabay from selling geek music  !! I am trying to hit £200 by payday whenI will add that to my newly swollen disposable (ha:D!) and get rid of one or maybe two I.L.D's (irritating little debts for those who have forgotten what that stands for!)
I have also made a couple of mistakes on the MB - not loss making just 'doh.....could've made more there!!)
Good Morning ALI our gracious mortgage queen
Thanks Ali for the encouraging words. The loss of Carboot/Hellifax is great I have to say and for once is an experience that is entirely sweet with no bitter tinge!! It was my major project for what......6 months?
I don't know if you are considering MB to create a bit of extra OP? I don't care what anybody says.....those bookies' websites do have a decidedly decadent feel to them and I salute anybody who goes nowhere near. I got a free Casino bet and went into one of the casinos yeaterday - depressed the life out of me and ruined yesterday afternoon. How people spend hours on those sites I just don't know.
Congratulations again on your mortgage work and the thoroughness of your interest calculations and mortgage accounting. I stand in awe :A
Well.....that's an unusual post. A million x thanks everybody for your visits to my thread and priceless words.
Have a cracking weekend.

Sage advice Brogden - thank you, don't forget to send a an invoice
I think she will have to keep it in her ISA this year.
Fantastic signature .....without going back to check how many years are you into this game?
Also feel a bit silly- what is MB?
xx

Least you know what you're doing with MBing along with Skinny, well done on the £50 so far :T.
I was hoping to get engrossed in reading up and understanding laying and backing (sounds more like rest options along with sleep and nap to me :rotfl:) but as usual time has run away whilst off and I'm back to work tomorrow...so it's on the never ending To Do list at some point...but yes, to make some to add to the OP pot would be fab
Why thank you kind Sir Broggers on the mortgage...nearly £18k gone, though INOD's slashed £23k , so I rightfully pass the crown. I'm married to my spreadsheets
Hope you've had a fab weekend and your 'work days' are MB productiveBack on the DFW Wagon:

Yes where have you gone brogs, I thought I'd been gone a while
Maybe you're making a fortune on MB and don't have time to tell us, or you've become a gambling addict and don't want to tell us.

Ali / NOA & Skinny (the cheeky one  ) Thanks you for your interest in my new 'vice.' Another one to add to the list!!
I have been looking at quite a few people’s diaries this last week or two but have not been posting much myself since the redundancy was announced. I am now not working at all and simply sitting on the payroll until (almost certainly) Christmas. I think it is this loss of routine that has led to the posts drying up. I think when I was in the routine of work (uuuuurgh) I was then also for a time in the routine of posting. I break one habit and other habits break at the same time………
One thing I am wondering is how I will ever have the time to fit a job/work back into my routine again. I am immensely busy with ordinary housework (washing / cleaning / cooking / garden mainenance etc.) At the same time I am choosing to attend to a few ‘occasional’ jobs that have been waiting around too long such as carpet cleaning and some decorating and, you know…..cleaning into the darker recesses…….I am also studying for a further professional qualification which fills a bit of a gap for me and may help me in future years and it is good at the moment to be able to tell people that this old work horse is still studying.
Anyway, whatever I do, work I must or the future will not be as intended, although, as I keep saying in this house….we will surely survive. I foresee an increasing pressure being put on me now as the next three months go by. On the one hand it is seen to be good news that I can be bossed around to get ‘housey’ jobs done but also be told that I shouldn’t be doing these and should be chasing work full time instead. This is surely not unusual in this situation and colleagues / ex-colleagues I have been in contact with have said the same thing.
Something which makes this situation a little worse here is that there seems to be an air of ‘gloom’ going around Mrs. B’s workplace. You know, one person gets peed off, tells everybody else so everybody then thinks it’s a great idea to be peed off too! A resignation or two has been chucked in including one from one of Mrs. B’s best friends. So…….she would like to leave but how can she depend on a redundant hub? High pressure forecast……..(in weather terms that would be good newsbut in this scenario.......not
)
So……after the intial ‘splurge’ in financial activities whilst I worked out and evaluated the financial route I should take (pension contributions etc) I have pretty much come to the conclusion about what should be done here although I will need to engage an IFA by the end of the year (costs ££££) The only change to the plan I outlined in an earlier post is the matter of the debts. My initial reaction was to just keep up the modest repayment plans and focus on being secure albeit not being as ‘fair’ to predators as a good person would be :A. That defiant attitude is becoming diluted a little (I think.) If I can shortly see where my future income is to come from I will probably wade into the predator’s pool and chuck them some chunks of raw meat……. BUT for the time being, whilst I cannot see a future income stream, I am sorry but they will have to put up with the ‘monthly morsel.’ I have spoken before of the ‘moral compass’ but needs must…..
With regards to job prospects, things are…….tough. I have a couple of people who are batting for me. I am getting very tired now of being drowned in compliments but that ‘the role has been withdrawn’ or ‘we are not now recruiting until spring’ or ‘you are too accomplished and we are not sure how you would fit in.’ No my head is not getting big. Whilst these words would have made me very pleased when I was young, foolish and driving a Cosworth, they don’t do it for me now in middle age with a diesel engine…….and no doubt the pipe and slippers are on their way soon.
The thing is I am male, middle aged and British and these are not the greatest of credentials currently. As my weariness with the whole process increases, I keep coming back to a self-employed positon I came across from a former business contact. I keep thinking about the advantages that this could bestow to the way I live my life (the downside being I may earn nothing!) Mrs. B would be frightened to death however. I am playing with this like a kitten with a ball of wool. Curious, interested and constantly returning……
Anybody who has read my posts will know about my feelings on corporate life even though at times over the years I have had the time of my life…….but…..the world has changed. I am now severely irritated, even momentarily disabled at the mention of ‘a robust plan,’ a ‘blue sky’ and a ‘window in time.’ At my (still current) employer, I see they no longer speak or send emails but are now ‘reaching out’ to each other……God help us….it’s only work . As I say this I am returning to that ball of wool, diffidently prodding it with my paw……..
Well…….this isn’t getting the baby washed is it? Lots of love to everybody and speak soon.
