Thank you Skinny……you have prompted to me to stick my head out of my shell :)

My travels were the mundane old ‘on the road’ thing but as I drove I did reflect on what life would be like if I didn’t have these forced, paid for trips…….I am sure I would get by though. Everybody likes it when I go out because I am informed I am the most irritating man in the world and at work nobody thinks that………..:p

On the money side of things, I am in a quandry again and racking my brain. I have reduced my pension contributions for now as I messed Carboot (Hellifax) around on my P&F by instalments – I set up a new plan on the phone for the balance yesterday and they WILL honour the previously agreed discount….but I knew they would. I want to be going ‘gung-ho’ with the pension but I have to be responsible…….WHAT? :rotfl:!!!!

If I have come to any decisions at all it is to maintain pension contributions at this level for now (only £300 per month) which comes nowhere close to taking me out of the HRT band. I will be using everything that doesn’t enter my ‘budgetary envelope system’ to rid myself of the most irritating and embarrasing little debts which I amassed when I tried to keep my old life going as a cold wind picked up, the skies darkened and ‘Brogden’s Debt Disaster’ manifested itself in the middle distance . This ‘thing’ had,of course been lurking unseen for a few years and only occasionally would I get a whiff of its unsavoury presence…..pushing it aside and comforting myself with beer, cigarettes and expensive take outs. How life changes…….it was an LBM but I have had many since then and still do………. :o

Out of the dark……climbing the steps up from the crypt into the weak sunshine. The bright light, whilst momentarily hurting the eyes brings some relief though the forecast is somewhat uncertain with storms being a distinct possibility…..

    1. Carboot will be gone in the next few weeks – that will show a large boost on my ‘sig-figs’ as the P&F will then be crystallised – something to look forward to……:T
    2. Sick Squid is going next week. No P&F here…….they wanted to know my inside leg measurement and the colour of my panties before they would consider it so…….no way – I’m a quiet and reserved boy and I don’t even know them anyway :o:o:o:mad: !!

Onwards and upwards (again.) Hope all going nicely for everybody.

    Hello Everybody

I haven’t been quick to post about this but did mention the potentially life changing event that was to come in June. Yes, of course………I am redundant although I will be paid for some months yet before final pay off .

A man cannot carry around with him so many poor feelings about certain things and certain people for a result like this to have been avoided. The forum isn’t the place to discuss the lies, the acting, the bent behaviour……all dressed up as political correctness. I am the lucky one I know. I have lost many colleagues and friends over the last few years, all of whom had the same feelings as me and exited without a bean or indeed much less than I ‘may.’ I say ‘may’ as redeployment ‘may’ be a possibility…….you can see that I am a man of strong principles :o.

The upshot is, of course I don’t know where the ++++ I am up to on my targeted activies (a) mortgage (b) debts (c) pension yes pension……..the pension……the only thing that kept me soldiering on through all of this abject stupidity…..I obviously keep what I have and I am glad I have it – could be more though………:(

If nobody objects, I’ll post my ideas for my garden leave projects as the weeks unfold. Maybe there is the chance for me to do some good on the finances and other things.

  • Broggers, sorry to hear your news. How long have you been with the company? Will redundancy be able to make inroads into the debt? Btw, when did your creditors reach the half way mark?

Aaaw what a bummer Broggers. I hope you get a wacking great redundancy cheque.
Although I've never experienced it myself, I know a few people who have been made redundant, and every single one says it was the best thing that happened after they got over the initial shock. They all went on to better things, are happier and in many cases better off.
Good luck with which ever way it swings xx
