Brogden's Debt Disaster & Self Managed DMP!
Comments
-
Hello Molly
Thank you for bobbing in.....I am asking myself how I feel about being 'watched with interest.' Its like catching a space alien and putting him under the microscope to see how he functions :rotfl:!! Hmmmn......I promise I will try to behave very well
If the situation is 'dire' do you really need to be alone with it? Is Step Change worth a call? I went through speaking to them. At the time I couldn't get my head around how payday loan rollovers would work in the context of a 'managed' DMP and that was the main reason for not proceeding and in the end I just did it for myself. I am now glad about this but I could always have leaned on them and gone self-managed later. I was swallowing hard on the sort of monthly payment I should make I have to say but I was such a novice.
It is all very 'sortable' whatever but you probably know that
All the best for a 'sorting' 2015.

Hi Brogden,
We do need to do this alone as we need to remortgage in a couple of years and can't afford to trash our credit rating. My DH has been out of work for 17 months now and we went from his £60k salary to my SAHM non existent one to my TA £8k one........he was left £5k out of pocket from his US employer plus we had some other cc debt but I have to believe he will get another job soon! Currently we have enough coming in to pay mortgage and bills but not debt repayments or food but I can manage with some juggling. I will be looking for a teaching job once we go back next week so I have to believe that we are just going through a phase of things getting worse before they get better! My parents have been helping us but it's not fair to keep asking, we have yo do this ourselves.
Sob story over, time for a drink or two methinks!
Thanks for listening......I shall go back to stalking you from afar!!:rotfl:

I see Molly - its all about preserving the credit ratings for mortgage isn't it? I appreciate that this is quite stressful and wish you both the maximum best in getting work as soon as possible. I am sure you will do it.
Please don't watch from afar- I was only joking about the microscope
Tea and buttered scones anytime......even space aliens like that :rotfl:!!

Don't apologise for ranting, we all think the same things. It's great to hear someone else say them.
Keep going Broggers, you are motivating us all!
Happy New Year
Sorry SS - I missed you yesterday.
A Happy New Year to you too
I have had a bit of financial work to do (a couple of offers on Mrs. B's and an I&E 'Round Robin' so the predators know its tough at Brogden Towers) I keep putting all of this off which is not good enough........I think I need somebody like you or INOD to give me a good telling off
!! No problem from me if the whip is the best idea
 !!
Suffering a bit of post-Crimbo lazyness I think. This is the first 'normal' day isn't it? I've got to take DD2's new jeans into town to try to exchange them.......there's always something wrong with everything she buys! Thankfully nothing wrong with her car but I knackered myself finally getting around to cleaning it yesterday - she'd better be grateful

Thanks muppets and please don't lurk silently too much - its always good to have visitors.
I am sticking to just the one challenge! I know everybody 'thinks'that I am a complete nutter and that I am just proving that fact again with my 2015 pledge. I know its ambitious / rash / nuts (delete as appropriate) but I thought I might as well be an honorable runner up than to not really go for it totally gung ho?
Between you and I......if I do hit my target I'll bare my bottom on the town hall steps :rotfl:!!!!

Thank you Ali
!!
'Tea with Ali'....that sounds great! Sounds a bit like a well known book!!
Thanks for your good wishes for 2015I wished you the best before but I'll bore you and do it again
Chill out well and truly before you go back to work and remember with all that you do that a bit of R&R (that's not rock n roll ) allows you to keep on keeping on. I know you have a little trouble with just letting the day go by and so do I. For the next few days that's what we are going to do though......order
Please keep us updated on the mortgage and payments......I know its not just me......it helps us all a lot whether its mortgage (you) or yucky debts (me at the mo') :T

Morning Broggers
I always visit diaries with one of these :coffee: (though it's tea as we know) - they say there's at least one book in us all, maybe a place to make our fortunes?
Ah, love my soft rock music (maybe not so much the roll, though I will if I keep on with the pile of chocs I got for Christmas  :rotfl:). Sounds of DS's iTunes Xmas voucher purchases have been blaring out whilst I slowlyclean the bathroom - deep clean and deep joy! At least he's buying music that I like too
and then I can definitely relax in a posh bubble bath later that was an Xmas pressie. Win-win.
Chilled out the past 2 days with a 1,000 piece jigsaw (now done) and 2 No Spend Days were the bonus
Shall keep chipping away and reporting the financials.
Have a happy weekendBack on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -

You would be proud of us!
I am on the way out now to go to the tip, buy stamps for two full and final offers on Mrs. B's debts and then bring in middle-eastern take outs for the DD's and a red hot curry for the seniorsNobody eats all the same things here - its a bit of a nightmare to be honest and I limit it to once a week
