I have not mentioned the winners details or the magazine since we are not to discuss forum users since it is against the rules of the site.

How do you know they are on here?

Also, they may have won fairly. To be honest, I would be asking the magazine how winners are chosen and how they check for fairness, rather than singling out a winner. If you are wrong - and it's purely chance that has caused these wins - then you could get a fellow comper into lots of hassle for no reason...

A fellow comper will not be getting lots of hassle for no reason because I have not named them. If I am wrong and it is purely chance then they will not get into trouble since the magazine can see that is it pure chance and very lucky but if I am right and they have made multiple entries using lots of different email addresses which is against the terms and conditions/rules then they quite rightly should get grief.

I have been very careful not to name them and also not to name the magazine on purpose just in case they are very very lucky with their single entry each week. :)
  • Here is another thread on the same matter

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5064785

I always post liked and shared and thank them.

This thread is on a completely different matter it talks about liking and sharing Facebook competitions not the same person winning magazine competitions.
  • I do see what you're saying :-) however last year I won with the same magazine three times in the space of two months! I never ever double my entries, I always play fair as I am a great believer in Karma, but I do think you have done the right thing by asking them to check, after all, if there is something dodgy going on, they can sort it, and if not, well, no harm done! Good luck to all! :-) x
Ipad 3, Holiday to Barcelona, Holiday to St. Ives, Holiday for 6 to Newquay, Lumix Camera, £1000, 42" LG T.V...I love to Comp! :T Wishing Everyone Here Massively Good Luck!
  • Just recently, over the past six weeks or so, I've had three wins from the same magazine. The comps were posted on here and I entered them all just the once over email, so I'm as surprised as anyone!! Surprised and grateful :D

Can I just ask if you (the OP) had won three times with the same magazine in the space of a few weeks would it be OK for us to question this?
It is probably just a simple explanation.

I totally agree, but if you have named them to the magazine, and their name comes out again - by chance - then potentially they won't be awarded the prize, as the magazine will fear more emails asking about whether the winner entered fairly... It's clearly a memorable name for you to be certain it's the same entrant.
I have raised it with the magazine since it is not possible by pure chance alone to keep winning given the large number of entries they receive.

I have not mentioned the winners details or the magazine since we are not to discuss forum users since it is against the rules of the site.

I understood from this you haven't mentioned here the winner or the magazine, due to the site rules. However, I took your comment about raising it with the magazine to suggest you had mentioned the comper's name.

I guess I just believe in 'keeping my side of the street clean', and not worrying about others. If others may or may not be cheating, or may or may not be luckier than me, well, I don't feel that I have the right to judge, unless I can be certain of a case of wrongdoing.
