Hi all,
We're off to Belgium during the October half term, staying about 1/2 hr from Dunkirk, going for 4 nights, 3 days.
Obviously, there is a lot to see/do, but what are absolutely musts?
Also, apart from heading back into France for wine etc and without driving all the way to Brussels, does anyone know of any decent sized supermarkets.
Many thanks.

Take a camera with lots of complicated settings that you've never had time to work out.
You won't get any decent pictures, but you'll certainly have time to get to know every setting!0 -

Buy beer! My favourite, Orval, was on sale for about €1.50 a bottle at the Delhaize/Proxy Delhaize supermarkets. Over here it's not widely sold at all, and when you can find it it costs about 3 times that.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

I know there's a super u supermarket in the french town of gravelines which is a nice place to visit too . It might help if you said where you were staying.

We're actually staying in a little town called Popperinge. Thank you for that link btw.0 -
You will find that where you are staying is mostly WW1 memorials, cemeteries and museums, the best if which is In Flanders Fields, in Ypres, itself a very pretty town.
For something different, Bellewaerde, near Ypres, is a very good theme park.
Belgian food is good, too, similar portions to those in the USA!Member #14 of SKI-ers club
