Funny I thought we were in the minority too with 1 TV.0 -
I find it very useful to have a TV point in rooms. It would point to me the attention to detail that had take place in a refurb. Would I look for it no, Certainly a pain to retrofit.0

Friends of mine viewed a six bedroom, two reception house that was wired up for Satellite in every room. To prove the point, as they were shown round, every telly was on full volume in every room. Enticing. They are an EYESORES!!!!0

when redecorating my house i removed all tv points from bedrooms....0

Yes definitely do it, any new build should now be wired for technology, get the conduit in at the very least, people now expect TV, cat5 etc, it's button to put in at this stage.0

I think in this age not everyone is bothered by this with smart tv's and many people having sky boxes and equivalents wired into their bedrooms.
We had our house rewired and had tv sockets put in 2/3 of the rooms.Start Feb 2013 £148,900
Initial MFD Feb 2043 --- Target Feb 2035
Current balance [STRIKE]Jan 2014 £146,652[/STRIKE], Nov 2014 £143,509
:beer:Current MFD Oct 2042 (5 Months Early)
2013 OP: £255 / 2014 OP: £8150 -
If the cost is minor (compared to doing it at a later date) then do it. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

If the rest of the house has been connected up, then to leave out a couple of bedrooms seems silly to me.
It wouldn't put me off buying a house on its own, but you never know - it may be seen as a selling point (along with other factors) and possibly influence (in a small way) someone's decision.
However, I think internet points in all rooms are more important than TV points - have you networked the house at the same time? Dedicated cabling is faster and more reliable than wi-fi/homeplugs.0 -
They are a nice to have, not essential but I would much prefer to have the house wired for cat 5.0

I have a TV in my bedroom and use it a lot (I'm still at home with my parents) but I don't think I'd even think about it when buying & it definitely wouldn't put me off buying a property.0

Not important for me but I see no harm having it installed if you are rewiring anyway, at least in the guest room. I don't watch TV anymore so our TV is now in the guest room for when my parents visit.0
