Our top picks for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus

I've just worked a couple of "two year total spends" out on an Iphone 64 and found it actually cheaper to get a contract via Carphone warehouse or mobiles.co.uk. This will save about £100 over the two years and then get £65 on Quidco.0
-
26th June 2015 - Just spent hours looking into getting my partner an iPhone 6 and the Official Advice on the moneysavingexpert page should really be updated.
- Their advice to go for this contract IS very good:
MobilePhoneDirect 1000 mins calls, 1 GB data, unlimited sms, £29pcm, 24-month contract, Total £716 cost over 2 years, inc £20 upfront cost for new iPhone 6 16GB
but it's not as good as this two-part combination with a total cost of £651 over 2 years:
PART ONE -
Three SIM-only contract, 600 mins calls, 4 GB data, unlimited sms, £13pm (you have to ring them to haggle this down from the published £16pcm), 12-month contract, Total £312 over 2-years, incl using handset ABROAD at no extra charge !
Part TWO -
Outright purchase of new iPhone 6 16GB from oembrands.co.uk £339.
You can save a further £12 over 2 years by using Baby Grogmella's link to Talktalk Business SIM-Only (but they don't offer the ABROAD-at-no-extra-cost that we wanted)
You can even match the official moneysavingexpert best deal of £716 (within £3 - so what) when you follow the route above, but UPGRADE TO THE IPHONE 6 64GB model !! How? Just do the following instead:
Part TWO (upgraded) -
Outright purchase of new iPhone 6 64GB from oembrands.co.uk £419.
I am sooooo grateful to MSE for all the tips on buying stuff. But I hope the editors will now update the iPhone 6 16GB page to show the extra £65 savings possible with the info above...

Who on earth are oembrands.co.uk?
Their website is very sketchy on detail, looks awful, and they are based here:
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@54.579935,-5.938974,3a,56y,293.18h,89.92t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s26bOi3qxu3IEl2YMqoQXGA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
Hardly insipres confidence sharing a building with countless other companies.
I would say one to avoid. I wonder how your figures stack up when buying a genuine Iphone 6 from a known reliable supplier?
Also it's a secure website but the owner doesn't supply certificate information so the website isn't properly secure, hence the exclamation mark at the start.
I wouldn't trust this website with my money.0 -
Take a look at trustpilot - seems all the reviews are made up

"advanceheating" only registered here today to create his/her post - another attempt to promote the company??

Thanks everyone for your time and feedback on my research that I posted about the cheapest route to an iPhone 6 (16gb or 64gb), when measured by the total costs added up over two years. In summary the official MSE best contract was £716, and my research found an alternative for £651.
This post focuses on the outright purchase of the 16GB and 64GB models contested by forum members after my first post!
Your link to the trust pilot website has useful customer comments about oembrands.co.uk (whose outright prices are £339 & £419) and although some customers report receiving their goods within two days, their webpage on delivery information does indeed confirm an outside time frame of 50days for the shipment. I'll have to check to see if my other half's prepared to wait so long, and could switch to a credit card if possible for extra payment protection if you guys really think this supplier is any less trustworthy than other smaller outfits.
So if we're to alert other readers to alternatives to oembrands.co.uk for a new iPhone 6, can anyone here beat the usual suspects from Amazon for outright purchase prices? The next best I've found so far is iphonesale.co.uk who doesn't do the 16GBmodel, but their grey 64GB one is £499.
So, we're looking for bargain outright purchass of iPhone 6's here fellas... C'mon, show your cards !
Please don't muddy the waters by posting up price examples of refurbished iPhone 6's etc, and only make comparisons to contract phones if the total two-year cost comes to less than the £716 (MSE example) or £651 (my example).
Cheers. :j0 -
OK so being kind we could say that you are genuine but naive - very naive if you order from that website.
https://www.giffgaff.com/apple/apple-iphone-6/phone-plans
16Gb is out of stock but is £499, 64Gb is £589. Trustworthy company.
iphonesale.co.uk - their about link takes you to the wikipedia website for the iphone which is a colossal fail.

So not really British and very recent. Their website states:
United Kingdom, Inc.75816957
This is NOT a UK incorporated company so this is a blatant lie: On companies house I get: "Company Number Not Found - Please Try Again"
You really need to avoid putting up quotes from these dodgy companies and start doing some research.0 -
Anyone else found a bargain iphone 6 that's from a genuine company?0
-
Not really related to mobiles but these people claim to sell mobiles too.
On 22nd June I ordered an iPad. I knew it would take several months to arrive. The ETA was 31st August. On 1st September, after hearing nothing, I tried my tracking code and found no information. I emailed them and they replied that the code was working fine. I tried it again and found that it was now working but the ETA had been changed to 18th September. Today, 17th September, they emailed me to say that the order was cancelled and refunded. They have given me no reason for this and have not contacted me to apologise.
BEWARE! Do not trust this company!0 -
People are always discussing iPhone 6s, but I just would like to know how much the price would drop...0
