    Not always.

Works out just as cheap to get it on contract if you get a friends and family discount.

Surprised the PAYG SIM from Mobile by Sainsbury's isn't mentioned in the low user section.

£8 pay as you go automatic monthly top-up (no contract)
    • 300 Mins
    • 500 MB
    • Unlimited Texts
On top of that they often have the first month free or buy one get two month's free on their top level £15 bundle (800 mins, 2GB, unlimited texts) which I am on now. I'll switch to the £8 rolling top up in 3 months.

I almost went with 3's 12 month SIM only deal at £7 a month but that has only 200 minutes, so £1 extra for 300 minutes seems good value.

You're forgetting that if you look after it, like I did with my 5S, you can end up paying a net £100 to upgrade to a 6. Same sim only with 3.
    Beat that anyone!
Trick is to sell one week before the new one comes out, protect it front and back before you do *anything else*. Put a proper case on, regularly clean out the grime that gets under the case. Always keep it on its own in your pocket, and the other important bit is to *touch nothing but the phone from the box*, so it looks as new when you come to sell it. Even considered shrink wrapping the box, but that would be fraud, and besides, immoral.
I'm always honest it's used, but I'm also honest that it's as good as new, and they agree when they get it.

  • Saw on GiffGaff the iPhone 6 (16 GB) is now only £509, you also can get £7 cashback via Quidco, (an additional £20 cashback ) if you take out a Sim only deal with them as well. No contracts, which means you can switch if a better deals comes along a few months later. Seems a good deal to me..

Why is who I work for relevant? Unless you think I'm working 3 jobs between Mighty Deals, 3 and Quidco of course?!

I agree buying the phone upfront is the most cost effective if you can afford it.
